set the background for ,the August
11th wedding of Gloria Alice
Cuming and Donald Keith Mc'
Creary in which they exchanged
rings And vows. Dr. Richard Stew
art officiated at the candle-rlight
ing service in New St. James Pres-
byterian Church, London.
The bride is the daughter of Mr,
and Mrs. Hugh Cuming, London.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Donald McCreary, AlvinSton
Given in marriage by her father
the bride chose a delightful floor
length gown of white sheerganza.
The empire bodice was enhanced
by delicate chantilla lace over
pink satin ribbon around the '.
square neckline and the waist.
The same, lace edged the Juliet
sleeves. The slightly gathered
skirt had 'an overshirt , which.was
open in the front and trimmed all
the way around with the same
chantilla lace over pink satin rib:-
bon. To complete her bridal en-
semble the bride wore a cathedral
length veil also trimmed all the
way around with chantilla lace
and caught up by a dainty Juliet
cap made of the same material as
the gown. She carried a cascade
of pink sweetheart roses, baby's
breath and trailing ivy.
Miss Katherine Belton was/Maid
of honour and Miss Donna
MCCreary and Mrs. Joanne'Des-
champ were bridesmaids. -They
were identically attired in floor
length, sheer-sleeyed gowns of
white dacron sheer , flocked •in
pink and. White dafies., over pink
crepe. they carried hand clusters
of white shasta daisies , pink
sweetheart roses, and blue corn-
flowers, and wore matching,
flowered headpieces.
Ted Courtis was groomsman and
Carl McCreary and Bill Curning
ushered guests. Mr. 'Allan Stew-
art of Burlington, cousin of the
btide , sang 0 Perfect Love and
The Lord's Prayer.
For receiving guests at the'
Lobby Room of The Paddock, the
bride's mother chose an original,
floor length gown of evergreen
chiffon, over peau de 'soie and a
cluster of pink sweetheart roses.
She was assisted by the groom's
mother in a two piece, floor
length ensemble of deep shrimp
chiffon and a corsage of a green
cymbidium orchid.
The bride changed to a 'green
and white 'ensemble , with a cor-
sage of white rose's for a honey-
moon trip to the Maritime Provin-
ces.
The groom is a graduate of the •
University of Western. Ontario,
and both are graduates of London
Teacher's College. 'They will re-
side in LOndon.
Those attending the wedding
were ,froin Lucknow Teeswater
Toronto, Oakville, Burlington,
Dundas, Wallaceburg, Chatham,
Alvinston, • Strathroy, Waterloo
and Guelph.
KINGSBRIDGE
Mr. and Mrs. John Howard vis-
ited recently in. Detroit with Reta's
sister Mrs. Marie Forbes.
Mr. and Mrs. Theo Van Diepen
returned home. Saturday after a
three week vacation with relatives
in Holland.
Sympathy is extended to Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Crawford and fam-
ily on the, death of Fred's mother
last week end.
REPORT REWARDING TRIP
'The students of 'St. Joseph's
school, their chaperones and vis-
itors returned home on Tuesday '
evening from their exchange trip
by air to Maple Ridge, B.C. The
trip proved to be a very rewarding
one for all.
Dennis Dalton who has been
sailing on the S. S. Charles Dick
has retired from sailing.and return-
edhome on October 16.
