If some of the local news media
considered the August edition of
the news too long to print in full,
this is not likely, to be the case
with the September edition as •
there Were not as many social .
events as usual to report on.
At our monthly Birthday Party
on September 19th, arranged by
Mrs. J. P. Johnstone and Mrs.
George Anstett on behalf of the:
Ladies Auxiliary, the most of the
entertainment was provided by
the expert piano playing of numer •
ous old fainiliar tunes by Mr.
Duckhorn of Eden Grove, to, which
Mrs. Duckhorn/sang solos or as
leader of community singing..
Miss Nora Zettel also played
guitar, and 'sang .a couple of solos.
Gifts were presented to '

Also,,another pleasant event
was the gathering in the Tuck
Shop area on September 20 of a
number of the residents to con-
gratulate Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Shelton, on the occasion of their
62nd wedding anniversary. Mes-
sages of congratulations from the
Queen and Ross Whicher M.P.,
were read by Don Moore,
assistants administrator,.who also
expressed congratulations on be-
half of the Home and of the resi-
dents. Mr. Shelton then cut the
lovely cake which had been given
to them by the Home and we all
enjoyed a piece of it.
I am sure we are all pleased by
the number of prizes won 'by resid-
ents of the Haven at the recent •
