The president, Kathy Purdon opened the meeting with all re- - peating the'Pledge. The'roll call was answered by all giving a suggested name for.. the club, and colors for your bed- room. The name chosen is the So Sews. The next meeting is at the home of Mrs. 'Walter Elliott Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Discussion - by the leaders Mrs. Elliott and Mrs. Purdon was Arrangement of toilet/articles , bedroom furniture, wall accessories and club members, discussed accessories: Subject matter - Good arrangement gives an effect of Organization, Har- mony of lines and convenience to you . Group Work.- How to measure for dresser scarf and chair pad, painted shades and tints and intensity. - Home Assignment - Arrange articles on your dresser; diagram of articles before and after; meas- urements for accessories; prepaie fabric ,for cutting. WHITECHURCH NEWS At the first meeting of the Whitechurch 441 club held at the home of their leader 'Mrs. Walter Elliott the following officers were elected —President, Kathy Purdon; 1st vice pres. Wendy' England; secretary, Janet Adams; press re- porter, Rhonda Gibson. There are 8 girls in the club, Janet Adams, Nancy England, Wendy England, Rhonda Gibson, Linda Moore, Lori Purdon, Kathy Purdon and Glenna Wilkens. Chamber -Charmers The fourth meeting of the Chamber Charmers was held on Saturday , October 13 at 1.30 p.m at the home of Mrs. Haldenby. We repeated the 4-H Pledge. Anne Colwell took the roll call "Any rearrangement made in my bedroom" and read the minutes 04:the last Meeting. • We discussed Achievement Day, Betty Colwell showed how to do a mitred corner. The girls are to do, one at home for their books. The next , meeting will he held next Saturday, October 20th at 1.30 p:m. 'at the home of Betty , Colwell. The meeting closed at 3.30 p.m. Bed Bugs. The fourth meeting of the Bed Bugs 4-H club Was held Monday evening at the Lucknow Central Public School. The meeting op"- ened •with the 4-H Pledge. MU call was answered by all but one member, "What rearrangements I have made,to my bedroom". The minutes of the third meet- ing were read and approved. The treasurer gave her• report. As yet the cover is not done but will be finished next week.' Letters were read concerning the linen scrim which was order- ed from Toronto. It may not be available and the girls decided not to wait any longer than next week. Mrs. Wm. Bolt demonstrated the insertion of a zipper and mitr- ed corners. Because the scrim had not arrived the sample of Italian Hemstitching had to be left. for next week. Material was handed out and each girl put in the zip- per which she brought and also did the mitred corner. None of the girls had •too many problerns with these samples. The meeting closed with the 4-,H Creed. Happy Hand crafters The. St'. Helens Happy Handl- crafters opened their 5th meeting on October 9 with the 4-H pledge which •Was followed by the roll call .which was "Where my ances-. tors came from". It was answered' by all member's. We received our covers and discussed• the des- ign for the front'cover. Debbie Errington and Bonnie Humphrey • are doing the posters for Club #1 and Lori. Miller and Barbara«Aitch- ison are doing the posters for Club #2. Gail Mac- Pherson is going 'to be our com- mentator for our 4-H Achieve- ment Day on November 17th. We discussed clic handout sheet for meeting 5 and received our handout sheet for meeting 6. We discussed different foods from Italy and Eastern Europe. Marybell Cranston and Brenda Arnold made a -Pizza and Barbara and Verna Aitchison made Beet and Cabbage Salad. Lori Miller and Annette -Kirkland did the cleaning up. We , closed with the 4-H Creed. • Zippy Trinettes The seventh meeting of Zippy Trinettes was held on October 8 at Leone.Cranston's. The presid- ent,Called the meeting to order and all repeated the 4-H pledge. The roll call "A country I would like to visit and why" was answered by the eight members present. Sherri Jerome read the minutes' of the last meeting and Joan Hackett read the business minutes. , We discussed the skit for. Achievement Day and the group who worked it carrie up with the idea , Shopping List in 1870. For this meeting the Theme was "with an oriental flavour . Mrs. Don Hackett discussed. 'Chinese section. Mrs. David Hackett discussed Japanese and Indian, We all participated in making Chicken Curry and Almond. Cakes, Both dishes turned out well. Clover Valley Lazy Marys The Clover Valley Lazy Marys 4-H Club held their third meeting on Monday , October 8 at 7.00 at the home of Annette `Elphick, The meeting opened with, the 4-H Pledge, The roll. call, which f011owed was "The accessories I have chosen to make". The minutes of the last meeting were read by Donna El- phick. The next, meeting will be held on Monday; October 15 at 7.00 at the home of Lynn Elphick, Making the Accessories from Group 1 was discussed by Mrs. Elphick. She also demonstrated how to make continuous bias. Mrs. Hamilton and. Mrs. Elphick demonstrated how to make and insert corded bias piping. Our group work was Cut Accessories from Group 1 and make continuous bias,and corded bias piping. We closed the meeting with the 4-H Creed. • Dainty Diners The sixth meeting of the. Dun- gannon 4-H Club 2, Dainty . Diners, -met at MM. Donna Snyd- er's home, OctOber 9. Linda Culbert opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge.
