the anniversary of the church.
/Rev. W, Robert Johnstone, ,B.A.
B. D. , minister of First Weqtininis-
ter bnitedthurch, London, was
guest preacher , in. the church of
his childhood.
.Rev. 'Johnstone chose "Simplic-
ity in Living" as the'theme of his
sermon at the morning service.
Music was provided by the Junior
Choir, the Senior Choir with Mrs.
Allan Johnson taking a solo part,
organist Gail yritchard and pianist.
Sandra Finlay. Choir director is
Mrs. Gordon Montgomery.
Rev. Johnstone was raised in
Lucknow where his father Harold
was a: baker. .Bob and his family
left Lucknow to live in Parkhill
When he was attending Grade '8 'at
Lucknow Public School.,
• In 1969, just following their
marriage , Rev. Johnstone and his
wife went , to White Fox, in North-
ern Saskatchewan where they
spent two years. At the Sunday
evening service Rev. Johnstone,
with the assistance of slides shown
by his wife, told of some of his
experiences while at the mission(
church at White Fox , and, about
life there.
Rev. Robert Nicholls, minister
of Lucknow United Church , con,
ducted the 'evening service. He
took the morning service in Rev'.
Johnstone's church in London.
Some of the C.G.I.T. members,
led by Mrs. Nicholls, sang the
vesper hymn, "Tains Canon" .
A duet and two quartette numbers
were provided by Mrs. G. Guest,
Mrs. S. Wardrop , Roy Walker and
Paul Swatridge 'accompanied at •
the piano by.Hap Swatridge; •all
of Wingham. Gail Pritchard was
organist.' •

meeting Sunday everting at the
home of Mr.. and Mrs. Don Ross.
The president Jim De Boer presid-
ed. The topic was Moses and His
Life. ' .
On the Sunday evening previOus
they had attended the show "The
Ten CommandMents" and the .
topic was a discussion on the show.
\The minutes were read by Cecil
de -Boer. The offering was re-
ceiVed by 'Rhonda. Gibton from
the 15 attenders.
The next meeting is to be held
at the home of Mr. and 'Mrs.
Archie Purdon. A show coming
is Godspell and plans were made
to see it when it comes.
The meeting was closed by
prayer. 'The hostess'served lunch.

The. Anglican Church Women
held their October meeting at the
,hoMe of Mrs. Ray Schneller on
Thursday affe.rnoon with the Pres-
ident Mrs. Gertrude Walsh in 'the
chair.
The roll call' was answered with
the word "thanksgiving". A low;
ely meditation on Thanksgiving
was given by Mrs. David Halden-
by. Miss Edna Boyle read the
scripture, Psalm 147 and prayers
followed.
Mrs. Midford Wall read a let-
ter.from St. Monica House , Wat-
erloo, It was unanimous that a
cash donation be made to assist
in the work being done there. An
invitation was accepted to attend
the Presbyterian Thankoffering
meeting on October 17th. 'There
was also an invitation to attend
the Fall Deanery meeting at Clin-
ton on October 22nd This being
a: work meeting a quilt was quilt-
ed during-the afternoon.
Following the closing prayer
and grace , lunch was served by
the hostess. Mrs. George Graham
gave the courtesy remarks. The
November meeting will be held ate
the home of Mrs. Midford Wall. t
This 'will be the annual meeting
and the bale packing.
Trinity UCW
The. October meeting of Trinity
United Church Women was held in
the Church basement , on Thurs-
day afternoon, with an attendance
of17 adults, and one child.
Mrs. Russell Alton opened the
meeting with prayer , hymn 384 .
was then stug. ' Scripture was
read by Mrs. Allan Ritchie, Mrs.
prank Alton and Mrs. Cliff Kil-
patrick, Mrs. Harvey Ritchie
and Mrs. Donald Hackett gave a
dialogue on "Gratitude" . Mrs.
Hummel led in a Thanksgiving
prayer. Mrs. Jim Arnold gave a
reading 'on Thanksgiving.
The Bible Study was taken by
Mrs. Ken Alton, her topic was
"Jesus as a Man". This was fol-
lowed by Group Discussions. Five
hospital calls* were reported..
Following the ,business meeting,
Mrs..Hummel and Mrs. Charles
Wilkins presented 'a skit on "Pre-
judice" , which all enjoyed very
much. Mrs. Chester Hackett
reported on the use of the Sunday
School Papers that, had been turn-
ed in. -
The meeting closed with pr.ayer
by Mrt. Russell Alton. The com-
mittee in charge served a dainty
lunch, during which Mrs. Charles
Wilkins gave the "Trinity Tattler".

Chalmers C.O.C. met on Sun-
day in the Sunday school room
during church service.
The C.O.C. hymn was sung.

Biblical verse with Thankt by 11
=enders.
The offering was received by
Wray-Forster and the Offering
Prayer was given by Donald de
Boer.

Simpson gave the Senior story,

closing Prayer.

Mrs. Garnet Farrier conducted a
contest. All members brought
their baby photo which was passed
to all to guess who they were.
Mrs. Milian Moore president
presided for the business. She
read a letter from Goderich Psych-
iatric Hospital thanking the ladies
for 'the picnic held, at the Hospital
at an earlier date; also one from
Pastor Karl De Koeijer. 'The
treasurer's report was given by
Mrs'. Albert Coultes. The U.C.
W. are invited to Bluevale U.C.
W. meeting October 14 and to
Chalmers Presbyterian W.M.S.
Thankoffering on October 17,
which is also the North Huron
Regional Rally, in Fordwich.
Mrs. Moore thanked Mrs. „Durnin
for the use of her horne for the
meeting. •Mrs.. Albert Cotiltes
presented Mrs. Elwood Groskorth
with a cup and sauce as she is
leaving the community.
The meeting was closed with
