Reappointed Dean
Dr. W. B. Pearson , who spends'
his leisure time at his residence
on the 6th of Kinloss, east of the.
Allister Hughes place , was reCent-
ly reappointed to a second term
as Dean of Science by the Board
of Governors of the University of
Waterloo.
Dr. and Mrs. Pearson came to
Waterloo from Ottawa in 1969 •
When he took up his present posi-
tion as Dean of Science at the
University of Waterloo and Mrs.
Pearson became a Librarian with
responsiblity for the Documenta-
tion Centre at the University, of
Guelph. They had both previous-
ly worked for the National Re-
search Council.
They are regular week end vis-
itors to Kinloss.
Died Saturday
"A two vehicle collision, on Luck•
now's main street in the early
hours of Sunday morning took the •
life/of Mervyn Alexander Hodgins,
21, of Lucknow, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Oscar Hodgins of Lucknow.
He was a passenger in a car driv-
en by Alfred Mawhinney, 24, of
LucknoW , son of Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Mawhinney of LuClinow ,
who is a patient ,in Wirigharn Hos-
pital with cracked ribs and a punc.

proceeding east on Campbell
Street. The second vehicle driv-
en by Lorne MacDonald of Ash-
field Township was proceeding,
south on Inglis and the collision

He served his apprenticeship at

Ambrose is now employed with,
Dominion Roads Machineq Co. ,
Goderich. He is married to the
former Barbara Riegling. They
reside in Luclinow.
Constructing New
Medical Building
Dr. P. J. Leahy's new medical
building, presently under construc-
tion, in Teeswater , is rogress-
ing very well and is nowsall closed
in.
The site of the building is just
south of Hillcrest Central School
on the corner of Bob Meyer's land.
Construction of the two level
Wilding commenced a few weeks
ago. Completion date is uncer-
tain.
Dr. Leahy will conduct ,his
medical practice from the new
quarters. He has used offices in
his home west of the Village
Clerk's office since coming-to
Teeswater some twenty years ago.

Mrs. George (Ruby) Saunders
died, on Saturday at Bru'celea
Haven in Walkerton. Mrs. Saund ,
ers, who was 76 years,of age, had
been a resident of Brucelea only a
few weeks, having• formerly lived
in Lucknow.
The funeral service was held at
theMacKelizie Memorial Chapel
in Lucknow on Tuesday With burial
in Greenhill Cemetery.

Ray Nelson, presently at the
•Royal. Bank in Ripley , 'has been
appointed officer in charge at the
new' Royal Bank branch in Luek-
now. Plans are to open the Luck-
now branCli on December 6th.
Mr, Nelson who is unmarried , is
a native of Arthur.
He will work under the senior
manager A. G. Pacey, new Agri-
Bank manger who is' in charge of
the Ripley and Lucknow banks but
who will spend a, high percentage
of his time at area farms as part
of the Royal's Agri-Bank mobile
banking service, Mr. Pacey has
been manager of the Harriston -
branch.
