THAT the Century Singers of Pais-
ley were guests at the Lucknow
United ChurCh on Sunday.. The
group included. Wendy and Sandy
Peacock, vocalists , Ray Moffat ,
rhythm guitar , Dave Welch,
bass guitar and %Terry Cormack,
bongo drums.
THAT Lucknow Fire Department
responded to a- call about mid
afternoon on Monday. Eugene
Frayne of Ashfield,Township was
teaming, down an old barn and ,
had the job' well on the way.
He was burning some trash when
fire got into the main part of the
old barn and got out of control.
Firemen saved a nearby garage.

who are both studying in Univer-
sity at the present time.
THAT Mrs. Emile MacLennan of
Lochalsh split the $506 Mildmay
Rotary bingo recently with Mrs.
Henry Gamiss of Wingham, each
lady picking up $250.
THAT George Colwell of Lucknow
left for a western trip by train
Monday to Dawson Creek where
he formerly resided and where
he still has property. Before
George left he had his 'annual
feed of "free niushrooms" which'
have been growing up through
the pavement 'in the area in
front of SandersOn's Ladies' and
Men's Wear. George Spotted
them last year and' was on the
lookout again this year. Fried

Triplet calves ,.two heifers and
one bull, were recently born on'
the farm of Lawrence MacLeod of
Kinloss who is pictured with the
cow and her calves.
It was the second time veterin-
arian Brock Cleland had delivered
healthy triplets h his practice in
this area, the other time at the
farm of Fred Gilchrist of Kinloss.

THAT a group of Lucknow people
A joined with several Wingham
folks 'on a North Country tour to
Agawa Canyon. Those from '
Lucknow were Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Alton, Mr. and Mrs. Wal,
ter Dexter, Mrs. Pete Murray of
Royal Oak Michigan, Mrs. Ray-
mond Leddy, , Mrs. Verna Elphick ,
Mrs. Bernice Bell, Mr. and' Mrs.
Aubrey Higgins of Dungannon.
The tour included the Nickel
Mines, Sudbury , enroute to El-
liott l,ake and Sault Ste. Marie.
On Wednesday morning the
group took the Algoma Central
Railway to Agawa Canyon with
the colour very lovely, and a
boat cruise through 'the Sault
Locks. Next day included a
Ferry cruise to Mackinac Island ,
