For Beide-Elect
WHITECHURCH NEWS
On Friday evening, a shower
was held for bride-elect, Regina
iowaluk of Toronto, at the home
of Mrs. Donald England, where
around 40 guests gathered in her
honour. Mrs. England read a
short address of welcome to Miss
kOwaluk. Bonnie McLeod
and Brenda Smith then conducted
very interesting amusing contests.
Misses Lois Wall and Ruth White-
head of Teeswater sang several
duets accompanied by Kenneth
Wall on the guitar. Kenneth
Wall playing his own guitar
accompaniment sang a solo.
The bride to, be then opened
her gifts assisted by,Bonnie Mc-
Leod reading the gift cards. The
gifts included, bath set, salt and
peppers, relish dishes, juice jug,
plastic pan, water glasses, bath.,
and kitchen towels, blanket, pil-
low cases chinaware, egg plate,
step, on can, pair of pillows,
cream pitcher, butter dish and
many' other disheS; 'A hat made.
of the gift bows was then placed
on her head and thanks expressed
to all for their lovely gifts and
attending the shower in her
honour. Mrs. England and her
helpers served lunch.
Mrs. Ruby Gloor of Bornholm
spent a few days last week.with
her brother Wilford Clipperton,
John and Mrs. Bessie-Mulliss.
Mr. and Mrs. Barry Jones and
family of Thorndale also were
visitors for .a few days at the '
Clipperton home.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Miller of
Goderich were Sunday visitors
with her parents Mr. ,and Mrs.
Ronald Cohltes and family and •
all. later visited With Mr. and,
Mrs. Rae Lewis and Michael of
Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. John L. Currie
on Saturday attended the wedding
of Fred Deacon and Catherine
House at St. Joseph's Church,.
Guelph and the reception' at the
John IvIcCrae Legion Hall.
Lori and Lee Fisher of Guelph
spent.the week end with Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Gibson, Rhonda, Bill
and Gregory.
Mr. and Mrs. Athol Purdon and
Shelley of Sarnia were Sunday
visitors with Mr. and Mrs, Rob•••
ert Mowbray and his-mother Mrs.
A. E. Purdon returned with them
to their home at Sarnia.
Mrs. Lewis of Wingham and
Scott Patterson of Detroit attend-
ed services on Sunday at Chaim-
, er's Presbyterian .Church, their
former home church. •
Mr, and Mrs. Rex Richardson
of Livonia , Michigan spent a 'few
days with Hugh Sinnamon On the
River Sideroid; On Sunday all
visited with Mr. and Mrs, Robert
Sinnamon and family of Monkton'
and lkock Sinnamon returned
home with Mr. and Mrs. E. W.
Beecroft and Karen for holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn
were Sunday visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Scott , of Ripley.
We are sorry to report that Mrs.
Russel Ross on Wednesday was
admitted to Kitchener Hospital.
The community wishes her a
speedy recovery.
LOST. LIFE BY DROWNING
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley ,Tiffin
spent a few days last week at
Brantford with Mr. and Mrs. Jim '
Henderson, whose daughter, Mrs.
Jim (Isobel) Tattery, had drowned
on Wednesday While on holidays.
The funeral was held on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. 'Wm. Purdon of
West' Wawanosh.also.attended the
funeral.
ERECTING NEW HOME, ti: •
Mr., and Mrs. Wallace Milligan
and family of. Streetsville spent
the week end with Mr. and Mrs.
Allan Falconer and Tony. The
basement has been dug and the
footing poured for Mr. Milligan's
new house on Highway 86.
Paul Falconer left on -Monday
by motorcycle to visit with Mr.
and. Mrs. Turpin of MOntreal.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hawkins and
family-moved to Breslau last ''
week. Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins
are both engaged to teach at
Kitchener, Mrs. Hawkins is the
