On July 13th we enjoyed a visit from about 25 residents of Gate- way Haven at Wiarton who had lunch in the new 2nd floor dining area and were then conducted on a tour of the new wing to Bruce- lea Haven. On. July 18th a birthday party for those having a birthday in , July was conducted by Mrs, J. P. Johnstone and Mrs. George An- stett on behalf of Greenock ladies, The program was largely musical with Wilfrid Brick playing his vi?lin, Mrs. -Art Metcalf at.the piano and Mrs. Lorne' Bester with her accordian playing numerous tunes and with various combina- tions of instruments. Mrs. Metcalf also sang several solos to her own accompaniment., Mrs. Howard Thompson played the pidno while her two daughters sang• a couple'of duets as she also did for the singing of Happy Birth- day and the Queen after which WC enjoyed a treat of cake and ice cream. Those having birthdays in July _and receiving gifts were Miss Euphemia Little who was 101; Mrs. Mary Donaldson, Miss Magdalen 'Stroeder, R. Wesley Hedley, Mrs. Abbie. Setvice was held in the Chapel on the evening of July 10th by the Gideons. Carol Finlayson of Guelph, •and friend Dean Black spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Finlayson. Allan Finlay- son of Guelph also spent the week end at the home of his, parents. Rod FinlaySon of Sarnia motored home and attended the Wedding reception, of Corinne MacDonald of Ripley. Lyle Oliver has been hospital- ized this past week. 'His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. Bayne MacLennan is also at present in the Kincardine Hospit- al due to eye pain caused by a welder. Guests at the. Miss Bell Was a registered nurse at the God- erich Psychiatric Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Ted KlOostra and family spent holidays at Wheatley, Ontario. • Mr.. and' Mrs. Ross MacKenzie and family spent their holiday at Fenelon Falls. Mr.and Mrs. Duncan 'Simpson and fathily are holidaying this' week in Southern Ontario. I missed some news columns due to taking a course in Hamilton dur- ing the summer. I am now back and looking for your news items once more. The family added a pew foundation to the farm barn as their summer project while I was away.. A summer visitor in this area, was Mrs. Raymond F. Peterson of Fullerton, California.' Mrs. Peter- son is a daughter of Jim MacDon- ald , fiirmerly of Ashfield. TEESWATER TOPS NEWS A' total of 182 lbs. have been lost since June the sixth by the members of the Tops Club'. We have been meeting weekly this month and a total of 63 lbs. , were lost so far this month. August 13 at 2 p.m. Rev. Kenneth Rooney was minister. She was the daughter of Gordon and Dorothy MacGregor of London and was born in Scotland on' Nov- ember 26th, 1944. She came to • Canada with her parents at age 16 'months and lived in the Kintail- Lochalsh area until about age 10 • years when they moved to London, , Mrs. Brock moved to the.
