Jean' Carruthers had the follow- ing musical program w a song, composed , sung and accompan- ied on guitar by Susan Stothers of Stratford; a song, sung and accom• panied On guitar by David 'Car- ruthers"of Goderich; Julia and Andrew Carruthers sang a delightful song about Daisy Mae's Bike which she had to repair with bubble gum. The singing Of Auld Lang S,yne closed the picnic but please do keep in mind the 50th for next year and plan to be present. PURPLE GROVE Little Robbie Thompson receiv- ed 'painful scratcheS and bruiSes last week'as• the result of a fall on the cement verandah step.• Fortunately no pones were broken; Returning from their vacations on Tuesday was Cathy Dore from VancouVer and Princeton, B.C. , on Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Bur , ton Collins. from the' Maritime Provinces and on Saturday John and Margie.Collins also from Princeton and Vancouver. Major Ian MdNabb of Calgary is enjoying holidays at the cottage with Mrs. McNabb, Chris and Sean. Other guests of the Mc- Nabbs were Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Tilden of St. Thomas. Guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Don Dore and family were Mrs. Claude Dore Sr. of Bervie, Miss Myrle Stewart of Kincar- dine, Jamie Farrell and Rick Mc- Gillivray. Other visitors during, the-week were Cecil Dore, Stuart Dore , Russell Collins, Harry Smit , Kevin Harrison and Bob Needham, Burt, Kay and Margie Collins. Mrs. William Wood and Mrs. Don Dore spent Saturday at. Bel- wood, where David Wciod entered Belwood Kiwanis Camp for three weeks. PAGE.' FIFTEEN Colwells Held Annual Reunion The annual Colwell,reunion was held at Purple Grove .Community Centre on August 5. .Sixty members, were present.. A .bountiful dinner was enjoyed by all' - especially the .2 big kettles of sweet corn brought steaming hot by Currie, Betty and Anne Colwell. Following dinner a meeting was held indoors and sports out- doors. The committee for next year will be Mr. and Mrs. Gord Emmerton and 'Mr. •and Mrs. Don McCosh. Time and place same ,as this year, August 4, 19 74 - P. G. C .C. Mrs. Jack Farrell and. Miss Betty Jane Colwell were in charge of entertainment. Prizes were awarded as follows. Darryl Robinson; oldest meniber present, Mrs. Frances Gillies. All' enjoyed the many remark's from members old and not so old.
