Mils Lila Irwin of Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home in Lucknow. has been a permanent resident there for the past twenty years. She was the second patient admit• ted after the home was founded. Kinloss-Lucknow School Area and 'Huron Bruce District High School, Residential and farm, 13.938 mills; Commercial, 15.295 mills.. kinloss-Lucknow School Area and Ripley District High School, Residential and Farm, 13.938 mills. • Huron-Perth Roman Catholic Gordon Statters, a native of this community, recently retired. A resident of Kitchener, he is a son of the 'late Mr. and Mrs. Denzil Statters of Kinloss Towh- ship. In July 1927 he became a junior member of the Bank of Montreal in Lucknow. He joined the Wat- erloo Trust in 1945 after serving with the Bank of Montreal in various branches in Canada as far diStant as Newfoundland. Mr. Statters served as account- ant In the Galt- branch until 1954 when he, Was appointed assistant manager. In June 1954, he went to Pres- tein branch Of Waterlbo' Trust as manager. In 1960 he was promot- ed to savings superintendent on all five branches in Waterloo County. Gordon Continued as savings superintendent up to the time of the merger of Waterloo Trust and Savings Co. with the Canada Trust Company. At the time of the merger, Mr. Statters was largely responsible for the suc - cessful integration of the two sav- ings systems. , In 1972 he was appointed Man- ager of the savings department of the main branch at. King arid, Water Streets in Kitchener and London Grad MARY McCREATH Mary McCreath, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill McCreath, Ripley, graduated from Victoria Hospital School 'of Nursing, Lon- don on August 3. The graduation exercises were held in Centennial Hall. Separate School and Huron Bruce D.H.S.. Faim and Residential: 13.741 mills. Bruce-Grey R.C.S.S. and Huror Bruce D.H.S. , Farm and Resid- ential, 14.339. The regular meeting was held August 1, 1973 at 7.30 with the reeve and all council present. • It was decided 'to proceed with repair on the Black ;Creek N. W. At the time of his retirement, Gordon was the guest of honour at a dinner at the Westrnount Golf and Country Club attended by many of his friends and associates. In addition, he was guest at a luncheon at the Breslau Hotel, attended by men with whom he Worked. At an inform .- al gathering at' the office, he was presented with an electric lawn mower, a gift by the central Ontario staff association and .the members of the staff in his depart. Merit. Funeral. Here For . • • Accident Victim ,The funeral service for Iosbel Jean Brock , 28, of Tiverton, who' was killed in 'a -motor accid- ent on No. 9 highway at Rivers- dale on Friday , August 10th, was. held at the MacKenzie Memorial Chapel in Lucknow on Monday, August 13 at 2 p.M. Mrs. Brock-was a passenger in a car driven by Mark Chamber- lain, 21, of Inverhuron, who re- ceived minor injuries in the single vehicle accident. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon MacGregor of Lon- don' and was born in Scotland on November 26th, 1944. Burial was at Kint'ail Cemetery. Pallbearers were George, Don- ald, Sandy and Bob MacGregor, Orland Richards and Les Bonner. Mrs. Brock is survived by a son Steven, age 4: her parents and three sisters Mrs, Stewart (Mary Helen) Ross of London, Doreen of Banff and Kathy of London; her grandmother Mrs. Iviurdoek Mac- Gregor of Red Deer, Alberta: Two Members of SNAP (Stud- ents in Nursing Homes Activity Program) are pictured with Mrs. Martha Bonnett of Pinecrest Manor Nursing. 'in Nurs- ing Homes Activity Program) have been visiting, the community on a regular basis over the past few weeks and operating their . program at,the Pinecrest Mark* Nursing' t Home, the O'Donnell Nursing Home in LucknoW and the Carruth. ers Nursing. Home in Kinloss Township. The SNAP program is a provincial one run by. the Youth Secretariat under the Exper- ience 73 Summer Work Program. The group of young people. visit the homes at least once a' week, of a stuffed animal. Residents of the nursing homes are taken for car rides, .bus trips and are engag- ed in crafts, singing, bowling and conversation. The team visits nursing homes at Goderich, Seaforth, -Hensallv-Lucknow and Holyrood. George Gregg.of Goderich, a field worker, for the Homes for Special Care with the Ministry of Health , _is-re'sponsible for setting up the program. Brian Miller of Wingham, a student at Western University. is, co-ordinator for the program. The eight week program ends in Aug- ust, struck him on the back. . He was removed to Wingham Howital by ambulance where it was determined that he had suffer- ed Crushed vertebrae. He will •be off work for some time.
