• The death of 'Ewen D. Mac-
Quaig of .1106 Bougainvillea Rd,
Lehigh Acres Florida occurred
on -Thursday, luly 5. He was 77.
Ewen was born in Lucknow, a
son of Angus and Effie MacQuaig.
He had moved to. Lehigh Acres
eleven years previously from Tol-
edo, Ohio, where he had resided
fola number of years. He was a,
member of St. Aslems Episcopal
Church and a member of Old
Light Lodge No. 184 A.F. &
LUcknow.
Mr. MacQuaig is survived by.
his son John MacQuaig of New
Orleans; one daughter. Mrs. Sarah
Davis of Toledo; and three sisters
Misses Sarah, Agnes Ind Mary
MacQuaig, all of London..
He was predeceased by his
wife; three sisters Rebecca and.
Cora of Lucknow, Isabelle of
Chicago and four brothers, Dun-
can of Australia, John and Glad-
stone of Lucknow and Danny in
infancy.q
The Commendation service was
held in the Farley Funeral Home
Chapel. The bilrial Service
Was at St. Aslems Episcopal
Church with Father Anthony Van
Ham officiating.
Pallbearers were Harry Paul,
Lester Peterson, George Child-
ers, Frank Shuerr, Carl Sharp,
and Ross Campbell. Burial was
in Lee. Memorial Park.

AUGUST 1963
Lucknow's first full time Police
Officer assumed his duties on
August 1st. He was Joseph Balzer
of.St. Catharines , where he had
been for the previous eleven
years a member of the St. 'Cath-
arines Police Department.
A Campbell Street business
transaCtioh was finalized, when
Lloyd Hall bought the Rathwell
Shoe Store building adjoining his
Red and'White Food Store. Ger-
ald Rathwell had plans to move
his shoe business directly across
the street to the former Bell Tele-
phone office in the Joynt. Block.
The change over, was to be' made
in September.

Dr. A G. Elliott, an esteeme
Lucknow citizen and local medic
al dOctor , died suddenly on Aug
ust 2nd , 1923 at Kincardine in
his 62nd year. He had attended
a baseball game at the lakeside
.town between Kincardine and
Luc know . Following the game
when starting for lime, the doe.

expired almost Instantly.
Dr. Elliott had purchased the
medical practice of Dr. Mag
at Lucknow in 1884. and served
this comMunity for thirty-0e
years.
A meeting was held at Kin-
lough 'for the purpose of consider
ing the advisability of starting
