was amazed at ihe enthusiastic •
participation in the Lucknow
Craft Festival: by the Crafters
'and the people. He said he
felt Ludknow Craft Festival corn-•
mittee deserved a great deal of
credit for the tremendous organ-
ization of such a shoW and the
pleasant atmosphere which was,
felt while visiting it. He said on
his trip to LucknOw , he listened
to his car radio, hearing of strife ,
strikes and poblerns throughout the
world and yet in a small town,
beside the peaceful Lake Huron,
there was:a feeling of no hostility,
no worry of outside strife. these
ate the answers, these are the

of all, people but only those who
can bring them into being, in •
such projects as the. Lucknow
Craft Festival, can bring real.
peaCe and contentment, into our
lives and world.
Thanks must be 'expressed to
those who promoted this tremen-
dous project, said Mr. Bennett,
and pride and co-operation from
the Village itsetlf can be the-

Festival continuing to prosper
and be known not only as
Ontario's largest show , but Can-
ada's. He :said it is known
across Ontario .by Crafters and
people of every walk in life for
many enquiries were made to
',him as to how one could become
a part of the "Lucknow ,Craft Fest-
ival.
Robt.•McKinley, M.P. for
'Huron, brought greetings from
Ottawa and said having been at
the two previous FeStivals, that
there was no .doubt in his mind
of the progress and the upgrading
of the crafts and that it was defin-
itely, the best ever.,
•
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver McCharles
both expreised their thanks to
their committee and to all those
behind the scenes who worked
to make •it what it was. •
Comments from Craftert and
from visitors were all good. All
expressed their wish to return to
Lucknow to another' Festival, in
fact over $1,000.00 could have
been, collected for another Festiv-
al if one had wished to,start book-
ing for another year.
Always, there are little things
happen to spoil a little of the
show. One was' a parking prob
The. committee had no
part in moneys collected at any
time for parking ,,but they under .-
stand a •charge was being made at
the gate. This Was 'not done by
the Craft Festival and no money
was turned over to them. Com-
mittee members are' sorry they
hadn't known of the problem and
it could, have been stopped.
Another problem was the wash
room facilities, the poor lighting
and ventilation in, the arena gen-
eral and the food booth work area.
The• yard 'at the south door left
much to be desired for setting
up picnic, tables to feed the trem-
endous crowd.
These things are all needing
special attention if the Festival
is to grow and prosper. No one
could argue the point' that it
isn't Worthwhile for the commun-
ity. •
The Lucknow Craft Festival'1973
was a success and all who had a
part were proud of it. The corn ,
mittee have plenty of suggestions
as to the needs before another
such shoW can be staged. - -
There are many who did much
to proknote the Festival, worked
silently behind the scenes and
expected nothing in return. To
these, die committee say thank
you.
Yes, they all know the pay is
nil, they even buy their own
meals, but their community
spirit and accomplishment is what
makes the Festival'a success. „
