The Federal Government is
presently considering plans to ,
throw, the Canadian market wide
open for' feed grains produced
on the Prairies, and allow free
inter-provincial movement by
the trade ;rather than Under the
present organized system of the
Canadian Wheat Board.
Such a move would be a direct
attack against orderly marketing
and be a regressive step. N.F.U.
members in both Eastern and •
Western Canada are united in
opposition to this whether they
grow grain or feed it to livestock.
Removal of feed grain would
put the traders in the controlling
position of the purchasing and
sale of feed grains between grow-
er and user. Farmer would be
played off against farmer and
supplies and prices•would be mani•
pulated to the advantage of the
traders, and the disadvantage of •
the farmers.
