In the afternoon "Open House" was held by Miss Edna Boyle and her sister Miss May Boyle from 3 to 5 o'clock when many friends called to extend bes t wishes and renew acqUaintances. The din- ing table was centred with an arrangenient of yellow and white mums and lighted tapers. Pouring tea were Mrs. Gertrude Walsh and Mrs. Jean Hodgins. Serving were Mrs. EthelSparling, Mrs. Marilyn Milligan, Mrs. Carol Allan. Receiving .guests were Miss May Boyle, Mrs. Pearl Lloyd . Mrs . ' Mary Boyle , Mrs. Norine Sieloff and. Mrs. Vera Hod- gins were ushers. 'Mrs. Mary Scott was in charge of the register.. Others assisting were. Mrs. Grace Graham, Mrs. Marjorie Robb, Mrs. Dorothy. Thompson. At 6. o'clock relatives and close friends sat down to a bounti- ful supper. Mrs. Pearl Lloyd and Karl Boyle on behalf of cousins from Moose Jaw , New Brunswick, Barrie, Detroit, Londo,n and local relatives presented Edna with a Bulova wrist watch and .a swag lamp. Edna thanked everyone for remembering her in this way and adding to such a happy and mem- orable day, Brindleys Buy Durnin Home DUNGANNON NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Ross Brindley from Auburn have purchased the home of Mr. and Mrs.. Marvin Durnin in Dungannon, and obtain possession the end of July. Wel- come is extended to them. Mr. and Mrs. Durnin are mov- . ing to Tiger Dunlop where, they are building a new home. Friends here regret losing the Durnins from the community. Mr. Arthur Elliott, passed away in Goderich Alexander Marine and General Hospital early Monday Morning following .a lengthy ill- ness. He had been a life-long resident of this community. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Henry 'Farrell of Kincardine, Mr. Earl •McNee of Beimore, and, Mr.' and -Mrs. Graham McNee , Dungannon, .were dinner guests of Mrs. Mary Bere and family. • Rev. and Mrs.' Clarence Mc- Clenaghan 'visited on Sunday evening with the former's uncle and aunt , Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mc - Clenaghan at Whitechurch. During the month of August Rev. and Mrs. McClenaghan will be' on holidays , following .church service and Sunday School next Sunday, July 29. 'Rev. James Hummel of Trinity Church, Ashfield, will be looking after the pastoral needs during August.
