Mrs. Wm. Porteous gave a
short history of the Auxiliary
which was organized in 1883 ,
which makes this the 90th anni-
versary of the society. Mrs.
Duncan Cameron, wife of the
minister at that time, organized
the society. This was followed
by a reading by Mrs. James
Lowry of Ripley.
KINLOUGH NEWS.
Mrs. Raynard Ackert was host-
ess for the June meeting of the
Holyrood Women's Institute when
everyone enjoyed a delicious,
pot luck supper. Mrs. Morgan'
Johnston was in charge after the
usual opening business was dealt
with and correspondence was read.
A donation was made •to each of
the following - .The Log Cabin
at Southampton; Brucelea Hav-
en, Walkerton and. the Ripley
Medical Centre., .Holyrood Insti-
tute -will celebrate it's 60th anni-
versary this summer and an out-
ing is planned. Dinner will be .
served b y the Holyrood Institute
at the Craft Festival on Saturday,
August 4th and members are ask-
ed to bring TV, trays, knives,
scoops, etc. •

Maulden reported on the Curators
Work Shop.. All joined -in a sing-'
song.
Mrs. Raynard Ackert and Mrs.

Miss Jackie Johnston gave a
most interesting traveltalk on her
recent trip to England, France,
Italy, Austria , Switzerland, Ger-
many, Belgium and the Nether-
lands. She visited '26 cities and
showed articles from each place.
The hostess served coffee at the
close of the meeting.,
Mrs. Shirley O'Donnell and
children of Buffalo, 'N. Y. 'vatted
with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hodgins
and John. Shirley is the daughter
of (Wilma Armstrong), who is a
sister of the late Mrs. James M.
,Hodgins.
On Sunday morning Rey. Georg
Garratt 'returned to his pastoral
duties after undergoing treatment
in Toronto. We all wish him
improved health.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott are
enjoying a few days at a .cattage
near Peterborough with .Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Fair and Mrs..Mary
MacDonald of Ripley.
On Sunday afternoon around 75
Scott relatives •attended'a family
get -togetherat the PUrple Grove
Corhmunity Centre. The after-
noon .was spent in visiting and
taking pictures while the child
ren enjoyed races. The weather
was perfect for this happy event.
Later on •all sat down to a bounti-
ful supper.
Mrs. Gertrude (SCott) Walsh of
here was among those present..
The one coming the farthest dist-
ance was Miss Doris Scott from
Melfort, Saskatchewan.

of 'the. road July 21 with multi abra-
sions to face, arms, right hand,

ran in front of a car•driven by
Mrs. Haines R. R. 1 Walkerton, ,
as she was parking her car in
front' of the Town Hail, Wingham.
Child received abrasions to upper
lip, right foot, and left arm.

left leg when he ran into barbed
wire while chasing cattle on the •

ham arena, He was kept in hos-
pital overnight.
Andrew Whitby , Lucknow , frac-
tured his left collar bone at R. R.
5, Goderich. He was treated and
released.
Mrs.. Marion Jansen, R. R.
Holyrood, caught her right hand
in a hay mower, lacerating same.
Randle Longe, age 12, R. R.
2 Tavistock, lacerated his left
foot while swimming at Bluevale.
Kenneth Harrison, age 15 ,
Wroxeter , fell from the second
story of his grandmother's home.
He received'a fractured skull and
lacerated tongue.
Mrs. Doreen OVerboe, Clinton.
fractured her left wrist in a fall
at the Legion Hall, Wingham.
Eric Dietz, Eden Mills, was
treated for first and second deg-
ree burns to his face and right
wrist when he came in contact
with hot asphalt.
Cynthia. Hokak, age 3, Luck-
now , was apparently sitting on
the trunk of a car which rolled
down agrade, behind, the Village
Shop. • The other children jumped
but Cynthia was pinned between
two cars, receiving a fractured
