At 11 o'clock 'Yob Finlay, master CONTINUED ON PAGE .2 New Nursing Home Swimniing Sessions Have Been Busy The July swimming instruction session at the-Lucknow and Dist- rict Swimming pool ends this week with testing on Friday for Junior, Senior and Intermediate. 277 children were enrolled for lessons from 9 to 2 o'clock each day from Monday to, Friday. During July and- August , 43 adults are receiving instruction on 'Monday,. Tuesday and Wednes- day nights... 12 are enrolled in the men's 'club on Monday night, 20' in the women's club on Wed- nesday•night'and 11 in the mother and tad class on Saturday morn- ings. • A senior citizens night was held' on the 10th of July and the pool staff entertained: about 50 mem=' bers with a program,. swimming strokes, rescues, diving , etc. One of the senior citizens braved the water for a swim. A weiner roast at the pool on July 19th attracted over 200 child- ren and parents. Breaking out about 10 a.m. , the barn was a complete lossas wellas the season's crop of hay. and a large quantity of last, year's grain. About 40 'small pigs and two sows were lost in the fire with 4 sows and about 8 pigs sav ed. Lucknow Fire Department were unable to save, the barn and con- 'centrated in -protecting the home which was wet down as a precau- tionary measure..
