Total cost of the building will
be approximately $400,000 with
the• completed facility expected
to involve an' expenditure . .

The owners of Pinecrest Manor,
Mr. and -Mrs. George Newbold,
have operated the present nursing,
home in Lucknow• for more than
121/2 years, it having served the
community for 'a total„of more
than: 20 .years Mrs. Newbold, the
former 'Mary Fisher of this com-
munity, is a Registered Nurse,;
graduating from the Hamilton
General Hospital School of Nurs-
ing, and has been employed in
the field of nursing almost contin-
uously since her graduation. Mr.
Newbold has held other adrninis

New Nursing Home
Swimniing Sessions
Have Been Busy
The July swimming instruction
session at the-Lucknow and Dist-
rict Swimming pool ends this
week with testing on Friday for
Junior, Senior and Intermediate.
277 children were enrolled for
lessons from 9 to 2 o'clock each
day from Monday to, Friday.
During July and- August , 43
adults are receiving instruction
on 'Monday,. Tuesday and Wednes-
day nights... 12 are enrolled in
the men's 'club on Monday night,
20' in the women's club on Wed-
nesday•night'and 11 in the mother
and tad class on Saturday morn-
ings. •
A senior citizens night was held'
on the 10th of July and the pool
staff entertained: about 50 mem='
bers with a program,. swimming
strokes, rescues, diving , etc. One
of the senior citizens braved the
water for a swim.
A weiner roast at the pool on
July 19th attracted over 200 child-
ren and parents. A soccer game
' ended the evening.

Fire in mid morning on Friday,
July 13th destroyed the barn of • ,
Warren Wylds<on the 12thconces-
sion of Ashfield Township.
Breaking out about 10 a.m. ,
the barn was a complete lossas
wellas the season's crop of hay.
and a large quantity of last, year's
grain. About 40 'small pigs and
two sows were lost in the fire
with 4 sows and about 8 pigs sav
ed.
Lucknow Fire Department were
unable to save, the barn and con-
'centrated in -protecting the home
which was wet down as a precau-
tionary measure..
A benefit dance for Mr. and ,
Mrs. Wylds was held in the .Luck -
now Legion Hall. on Saturday night
with about $700 presented to the
couple. , •
