meeting of Rising Star Royal Black
Preceptory No. 1226 at Blyth on.
Tuesday evening, June 19.
The occasion was to honour Sir
Knight Walter Scott. Right Wor-
shipful Sir Knight Scott .was rec-
ently elected Grand Master of
the Grand Black Chapter of.Ontar-
io West.
This, is the first time Blyth
ever had a Grand Master. This is
a big honour to have Sir Knight
Scott as- Grand Master. The
lodge room was packed with Sir
Knights who came to honour and
congratulate him. Several had
speeches. After the meeting the
Blyth Sir Knights served lunch
and a social time was enjoyed.

music during the noon hour.
Norman Irwin kept the children
busy with games while the older
members played bingo or visited.
Next year's reunion is schedul-
ed for Brookside School on the
3rd Sunday in June.

West Wawanosh Council Minutes
The regular June session of
West Wawanosh Township.Coun-
cil was held on Tuesday, '5 June,
at the hall. All members attend-
ed and Reeve Lyons presided.
The minutes of the regular
May meeting and a special meet-
ing held May 23 were read and
adopted on'motion of Council-
lors Hickey and Rutherford.`
Wm. Beyersbergen attended
the meeting to confer with Coun-
cil .about, a drain on his property
which he wishes to cross the road.
A delegation of ratepayers
from Dungannon regarding, the
Dungannon. Drain No. 2 appeared
before. Council and.. further dis-
cussed the survey of the ,Drain.
Council was informed that
Keith Brickman had installed the
catch basin and completed Some
repair work on the Durnin Drain-
age Works.
A meeting with the Waste Man
agement Branch of the Ministry of
the Environment and members of
Council was set for 3:00 p.m. on

ney, County Weed Inspector, to
act as Weed Inspector for West
Wawanosh Township..
A motion by Councillors Ruther-
ford and Hickey accepted ,an
application for a tile drain loan •
on Lot 26 Concession 10.
A survey regarding Council's
opinion on plumbing and building
inspection in the County was
discussed at length.
The week of June 17-23 was
declared "Senior Citizens .Week"
and the week of July 1-7 was dec-
lared "Canada Week" by Council,
to be observed in West Wawanosh
Township.
Motion, by Councillors Ruther-
ford and Hickey, "That Council
apply to the .Ministry of Transpor-
tation and. Communication for a
Supplementary Subsidy in the
amount of $5000,00 toreconstruct
a portion of Sideroad 18-19 Con-
cession $," .
By-law #4, 1973, a by-law to
authorize Bell Canada to locate
cable in the Township for 1973, •
was•given third reading and fin-
ally passed on motion of Council-
lors Foran and Durnin.'
On motion of Councillors 'Ruth-
erford and Hickey, West Wawa -
nosh Township accepted the Pre-
•liminary Plan for the Township
Maintenance Building, and to
engage Burns M. Ross and Assoc-
iates
ssoc-iates as engineers to prepare the
formal plans for the building.
The road accounts were passed
for payment on motion of Coun-
cillors Rutherford and Foran.
