Have Beef Dinner The June meeting of St. Peter's A.C.W. began with.a delicious beef dinner at the Log Cabin Restaurant. When stomachs could hold no more, the business part of the meeting began with Mrs. Clare - Johnstone presiding. Mrs. Cliff .. Roiulston gave the Opening Pray- er and Mrs. H. Cooper read the scripture followed by the A.C. W. Prayer., The roll call .was 'answer• ed by "Something different I am going to try this summer". Mrs. Tom Pritchard asked the ladies for donations of such things as plastic bread wrapper tabs, pop can tabs, bottle caps, salmon cans, old mattresses etc. These are to be used at the Hur- on Church camp.: Mrs. 'Johnston read the report of the Deanery meeting - which bad been prepared ' by Mrs. Mole. � The guest speaker, Mrs. Geor- ge Kennedy, then showed slides and spoke on a trip she and her husband had taken to Hawaii. The pictures were beautiful 'and presented in a most interesting manner and were enjoyed by' all. Mrs. Johnstone thanked Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Pritchard con- ducted a contest using names of those present. On behalf of Mrs. Mole and herself Mrs. Johnstone wished everyone . a very good. summer. . Marks 4th Anniversary Trinity Sunday School fourth annual congregational, picnic was held at Brookside School on Sunday, June 24th with 111 in attendance. Two teams were chosen for, a ball game at 2 p.m. while the little ones' played their own. ,ball games and several watched. The races were as follows: Boys and girls. pre -school 5 . and under, ,, Scott Hackett, Donna Scott; Girls' 6. 7, Brenda Hackett, Diane. Children 7 and under then played London Bridge, Drop the Hankie and had a candy scramble while 8 and over had Boys - kick the slipper with Gordon Alton 1st and Ian Hackett 2nd; Girls, Janice Hackett 1st and Beverley Wilkins : 2nd; Shoe Scramble, Boys, Bobby Livingston, .Johnny Barger; Girls, Gail Hackett, Janie Hackett. In the relay the, girls defeated the boys, -proving they tie bows faster. , Intermediate: Girls foot race , Donna Hackett, Cheryl' Hackett, Karen Reurink; boys foot race, Alex Irvin, Jamie.
