M. and Mrs. Allan Miller had their baby Karen Irene baptized.. After tthe•service the Langside session, on behalf of the congreg- ation. presented Reverend and Wybenga with a- • picture. - picture.;. Rev. Wybenga express- • ed his thanks for the gift and ' also for the support and fellowship' he and his family have enjoyed with the Langside congregation during the past three years. Everyone was invited to the •hall.after the service where a pleasant social hour was. enjoyed. Trinity UCW The Trinity U.C.W. members held their annual Grandmother's meeting in the Church basement on Thursday, June 14, with an. attendance, of 47. The meeting was brought to order by the Pres- ident, Mrs. Jim Hunter, with an appropriate verse and a few words of welcome to the Grandmothers. Hymn 137 was sung, and all re- peated the Lord's Prayer in unison. Mrs. Warren Zinn gave areading about "aprons", which was enjoy- : edbyall. .The Devotions were in charge of Mrs. Blake Alton and Mrs. • Cliff Kilpatrick. Mrs. Kilpatrick read the scripture and Mrs. Alton gave the meditation. Mrs. "•Kil patrick led in,prayer. It was dec. ided that we hold our July meet- ing on the third Thursday of the month this time, .which will be ` July 19, and will be an evening meeting... Mrs: Charles Wilkins was in ' charge of the program and on the more serious side led a discussion on "Women's Role in Society" following which,she had two readings and then the Trinity Tattler, which provides a laugh for everyone. Mrs. Ken Alton reported that she had arranged with Rev. Passmore to show slides of the Holy. Land at the Fall Thankoffering meeting, in Oct- ober. .Hymn 303 was sung and Mrs.. Hummel closed the regular part of the meeting with prayer. The 4-H girls, the Zippy Trin- ettes, presented the Fashion Show Kinlough ACW KINLOUGH• NEWS The Anglican Church Women held their June 'meeting at the home of Mrs. George Graham. with 15 in attendance, all ladies answered the roll call with the . word "Mercy". the. call to worship and information regarding the fall bale was read• by the president , Mrs. Gertrude Walsh, who extended a welcome to all. The hymn Breathe on me breath of God was sung, followed. by prayers. Mrs.' Roy Schneller read the scripture and also gave the report of the Deanery meeting held at Kincardine. A lovely med itation "Peace of mind" and a• poem "When I have time" was given by Mrs. Ronald Thacker. Mrs. Midford Wall read the cor- respondence. Thank you letters: were read and a donation received, also an invitation from Kingarf A.C. • W.`. to attend their Entertaining Day. Conveners, both for the women and the • men were appoint ed to make ready •at thechurch for a Special Service of Thanks- giving to mark 60 years for Miss Edna, Boyle for her faithful ser- vicesas church organist. The Deanery meeting will be heldat Clinton in the fall. Mrs. David Haldenby then presided for the program. The hymn "Gracious Spirit" was sung and Mrs..Haldenby 'led' in the Litany and 'a suitable Whitsun- tide poern from the Living Mes- sage. This was • followed with the hymn "0 Spirit of the Living God".. Mrs. Midford Wall gave a, reading "Showers of ,Blessings" and ended with'a prayer. Miss May Boyle told the Mis- sionary story of an experience of a Missionary couple in Africa. • All joined in singing "There were ninety and nine". Miss Edna ;Boyle conducted a Bible contest and gave the closing prayer. • Grace was sung and delicious refreshments were served. which•they•had for Achievement Day and all were pleased at the. lovely things they are , learning to make. Mrs. Charles Wilkins had some Charades: of favourite hymns. The committee in charge serv- ed a delicious lunch. The host- ess for the next meeting is Mrs. Andrew Ritchie. The first vice president, Mrs. Wallace Conn, presided in the absence of president Mrs. Bill Rintoul. Mrs. Conn •welcomed all and gave the call to worship • and all sang hymn' Faith of our. Fathers. Although completely taken by surprise Mrs. Wybenga replied reminding all that she had come from Holland but from the beginning she had been made to feel thatshe was one of the group who were ever so friendly._She told them to not forget to study the Word of •God She invited all to come and see the beautiful lamps given them at church last Sunday, June 10. The topic , Jesus Revolution, which is Turning on to the Lord. Large numbers of young people have embraced a new way of life,they call themselves the Jesus People of which there are 30,000 to 50,000 in Canada. They give up. drugs, • alcohol, 'swearingand drinking and many adopt coni- mune.1ife style. The aim of the Jesus People is to build faith and help others. The Jesus People have warmth, vitality and excite- ment. xcitement. They need the wisdom and guidance of the church.
