collision in.Ripley. An eastbound
vehicle operated by Albert Wylds,
Ripley collided with_a westbound
• vehicle op,erated.by Margaret
Gemmell, Ripley. Damage to
thevehicles was estimated
$1,000.00..
• Constable Daulby investigated ,
a single car accident in Kincar-
dine Township on May 12, 1973.
A southbound vehicle operated by
Steven Watson, left the roadway -
• and struck a tree in the ditch. "
• Damage to the.vehicle was exten-
sive.,

lation is designed to protect the
firemen standing on the back of
the engine and assist the fire
department vehicle in getting to
its destination as quitkly as pos-
sible. • Anyone who is convicted
• of following a fire department
• vehicle too closely is liable to- a
fine of $20 to $100. So remem-
• ber ... never follow fire depart-
rnent vehicles too closely ... and
assist them in getting to their
destination quickly. •
. On Saturday, May 19 Constable
Burgess investigated a two vehiele
accident on the lower road be-
tween Conc. 8 & 10, Huron Town-
ship. A Vehicle operated by Mark,
Whitehad of Weston was in colli-:
sion with a vehicle operated by
Leonard Tout of Ripley. Damage •
was approximately $600.0ti.

Bruce County Road # 1just south
of Kinlough. A vehicle operated
by Sheila Spruce, R. R. 1, St.
.Marys, left the roadway and
struck a hydro pole. .The accid;
ent was investigated by Constable
• Burgess.
Constable Daulby investigated
a single vehicle accident on
Monday, May. 21. A vehicle
on Hwy. 86 left the roadway and
struck a hydro'pole. The ve-
hicle operated by Leonard Feng-
, Kitchener was extensively -
damaged. • •
On Wednesday, May 23, Con-
stable Spruce investigated a •
single motorcycle acident on
Conc. 4, Bruce Twp-. A motor-
tycle operated by Brian Moore,
Tiverton left the roadway and
went into the ditch. Moore was
injured as a result of the accid-
ent.•
On Friday, May 25, Constable
Poland. investigated a single car
accident on #21 highway. A ve-
hicle operated by Lsabelle Small,
Kincardine left the roadway and
struck some 'guideposts.

30 Riders Roost
Members Meet
The regular meeting of the Rid-
ers Roost Saddle Club was held
May 29th at the home of Philip
and Sadie MacMillan, with an
attendance of .3'0 members.
The meeting was opened by the
hostess with a welcome to new .
and old members; followed ,by :
go9d news from club members.
Hugh's horse Tim is better and was
able to join with a'few others Sun-
day afternoon for a short trail -ride
The Taylor family•attended a •
horse show on Sunday when Brenda
showed her mare (Cheryl). Kenny
Ritchie's pony (Taffy), while out
riding, decided to lie down in the
creek dunking Kenny, got up,
walked a few steps and lay down
on the other side.' The Aalders
have two new horses, part Arab-
ian named Smokey and Rhecka
both three year olds and bay in
colour. Sadie MacMillan has her
little yearling .filly and is in the
process of halter breaking.
Doug Jansen won the Labatt
Trophy at Teeswater for the best •
Junior games -horse. He won,lst
in sack race; 2nd in pony express;
3rd in flag race; 4th in pick-up
race. Roy Bongertman, who
joined our club the last night, was
also a winner at this show; • Roy
won 1st in sand surfing; 2nd in
combinatipn stake and:
'pole bendmg; 2nd in pick-up race;
3rd in quarter mile dash; 3rd in
barrel race. Lorrie Aalders won
3rd in costumed riders class.
Pat Aalders gave the treasurer's
report. The club intend to haye
a draw at their Olympiad .on a
full size horse saddle.,
• Drawings wereturned in to be
judged by the executive at their
meeting Saturday night.
Next trail -ride is to be held at
Merle and Sheila Gunby's on June
10th, riders to .meet at Zion
Corner. Next meeting is in two
weeks at. Gunby's.
A session followed on first aid
by Carolyn Taylor, Who had as -
her subject,, contused wounds
(bruised wounds). Cathy Taylor
told how her pony had been Idc
'ed.in the rear and how 'she had
treated it. Doug Jansen's horse
