Awards Presented
KINGSBRIDGE NEWS
The annual public speaking con-
test at St. Joseph's school was
held on Monday , Tuesday and
Wednesday of last week.
This contest is made possible
through the estate of the late
James Garvey, who left money
to be used for this purpose. Each
student who participated receiv-
ed a silver dollar, while first
place winners received five dol-
lars; second place, three dollars;
third place, two dollars; with the
exception of first place.winners,
who presented a. speech instead of.
a recitation or reading, they re-
cefved a trophy or a plaque.'

History Project
The Ontario Department of
Education has approved a grant
which will provide summer em-
ployment for selected Huron
County students. They will
work on a project to update Hur-
on County history from 1900-1975.
The grant will be administered •
under the Experience '73, P.E.
0.P.L.E. program.
Employment for several univ-
ersity
niv-ersity students is for three
months. One or two high school
students will be employed for
two months. Applications are
now being accepted.
Huron County Council has
.undertaken to meet all addition-
al expensessof the project not
covered by the grant.

vision of County historian,
