Hold Banquet
The members of the Town and
Country Bowling League held 'their
annual banquet on Friday, April
27th at the Anglican Parish Hall.
This was the climax 'of a very en-
joyable season.
Walter Dexter led in singing the
Grace after which a sumptuous
dinner was served by the, Anglican
ladies and was much enjoyed•by
all present. John Mc Murchy ex-
pressed the appreciation of the .
club and Mrs. Harvey Mole re-
plied. '
Mrs. J. L. MacMillan was
chairlady and the presentation of
the trophies was the highlight of
the evening.
The' high' season's trophy was
presented by Mrs. Jardine to the
winning team, the Violets. Les
Purvis, captain, accepted the tro-
phy on behalf of his team. This
trophy was donated by 'the J. W.
Henderson Lumber Co. Members
of the team were Les Purvis,
captain, John McMurchy, Orland
Richards, 'Anna Dexter, 011ie
MacDonald, Liella Finlayson,
.Eleda Wightman and Betty Mac-
Millan. Trophies were presented
to each member by Harry Lavis
and Walter Dexter.. Les Purvis
replied fittingly.

Oh Tuesday, April 24th the
Exownie meeting opened with
Shirley Loree conducting two
singing and skipping games;
'Tramp , Tramp" and "Double '
Dutch".
Five of the Brownies then went
to Miss Thompson to be tested for
their Writer Badge, they were
Marian Raynard, Kimberley
Cooke , Debra Arnold, Anne Alton
and Elizabeth Wilkins,
Mrs. Webster worked with Deb-
ra Arnold for her Collector and
Neighbour Badges. Mri. Webster
then explained, to the Brownies'
abOut how she would like them to
do their test for the Gardener
Badge:
At Pow Wow. Debra Arnold
showed the three artiCles she had '
made 'for the WoOdworker Badge.
Tawny Owl checked to see if the
Brownies were still working on
their Thrift Badge.; Snowy Owl
made a list of:the badges the
Brownies were working on. Brown
Owl tested Marian Raynard for
first aid.
We then had Brownie Ring
with Betty Stanley as Fairy Queen
The 'Brownies hopped their Fairy *
Gold. We closed Brownie Ring
with the Brownie Prayer.
The meeting was closed with
the Squeeze and Taps.
Bowling Banquet
Held Saturday
,Lucknow Dungannon bowling
banquet was held in the Lucknow
Legion Hall on Saturday, April
28 when a delicious turkey dinner
was served by the Lucknow Wom-
en's Institute; On behalf of the
130 bowlers and guests present,
Frank Thompson expressed
enjoyment, and thanks to the
ladies., During the meal, the
very capable Lori Chisholm rend -
ered many piano selections.
President , Gordon Brooks was •
Master of Ceremonies and the fol-
lowing awards Were made:
The Tigers were presented the
season's champ trophies by Jack
Caesar. Members of the Tigers
are Bill and Marie Stewart; Grant
and Wilma Chisholm;. Ken and
'Beth Hodges and Mel and Helen
Dickson. High average trophies
were presented to Marie Stewart
by Marion MacKinnon and Jack
Caesar by Orville Elliott. Seas-,
on's high triple trophies were
presented to Marion MacKinnon
by Marie Stewart' and to Bill
Stewart by Gerry Prie'stap. Season
high single trophies were present-
ed-to Marion Cook by Mary Fish-
er and, to Jack Fisher by Bob
McIntosh.
Playoff trophies were awarded
by Jim Wilson to Group A. win-
ners, the Wolverines, Harold and
Maxiene Maize, John and Marina
Park, Harvey and Beck Culbert
and Bob and. Sally Wright._ The
CoOns won the Group B-trophies,
Clarence .Greer presented these
to George and Jessie Joynt, Jack
and Mary Fisher ,eMel-and Marg
Corrin, Joe and Dean Agnew,
Orville and Grace Elliott and ,
Kay Collyer. Shirley Hawthorne
and Donald MacKinnon, won both
high triple and high single troph-
ies for the,playoffs. These tro-'
i phies were awarded by Elaine
Irwin and Stuart Jamieson. Mast
improved bailer trophies donated
by Mr. Sproul were presented to'
Margaret Cranston by Bill Stew-,
art and to Fred Flanagan by Harv-
ey Culbert.
Bud Thompson presented the
Pole Cats with Crying Towels
for a fine effort and good sports-,
manship. Grace Elliott was
appointed next season's
secretary -treasurer . Dancing
was enjoyed to -the Travelaire
Orchestra to conclude a success-
ful year.

ton Centennial Manor of Milton
is , spending a week with her
daughter, Mt. and Mrs. Frank
Ritchie.
Mrs. Charles Wilkins and Ken-
ney motored to Guelph Univer-
sity Monday with Barbara where
she is starting, her fourth semest -
er after spending two weeks holi-
days at her home.
Mr. -and Mrs. Tom Helm and
Janine spent Sunday with her par-
ents Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pollard
of Ripley.

by 270 women teachers at a work-
shop at 'the Hyatt Regency Hotel,
Toronto „on Friday evening,
April 27 and all day Saturday,
April 28. The session was spon-
sored by the Federation of Women
Teachers' Associations of, Ontar-
io.
