The 100th anniversary of the Lucknow Presbyterian Church was marked on Sunday-with large congregations both morning and evening. Guest minister for the special event was,Dr. Finlay G. Stewart of Kitchener, a past moderator of the church and minister of St; Andrew Presbyterian Church in Kitchener for thirty-six years. • "I am sure, Lucknow yOuth will richly benefit from this venture and with it goes my best wishes tor success" is the comment of Lila (Richards) Hislop in sending a contribution to the swimming. pool fund. Dr. Stewart is well known from .appearances on Sunday Morning church telecasts from Kitchener. Associated with him in the service was Rev. Glenn Noh,le,, minister of, the Lucknow congreg- ation since 1969. Guest soloists at the services were Mrs.' Edward Ebanks 'of Lon- don, the former Mary Lillian. MacKenzie., daughter of Judge Stuart MacKenzie and, Mrs. Mac- Kenzie. She has been ,a frequent visitor with relatives here over the years and is known to many local people. Mrs. Ebanks sang in the morning. At both morn- ing and evening services, Lloyd Stewart .of Dundas, son of Mrs. Philip Stewirt of Lucknow and the late Mr. Stewart, 'sang solo numbers. For a number of years Lloyd was soloist in the church of Rev. Finlay Stewart in Kitchener. Lloydttewart also presented a pulpit book of praise to the church, on behalf of the Stewart • family ,'in memory of his father the late Philip Stewart.. Special music was , provided by the church male quartette of Cyril Brown, Dale Haldenby, Austin Loree and Norman Tay- lor, both morning and evening. Piano and organ duet music was provided by, Mrs. William Scott, director of music and .Norman Taylor. Church history books, compil- ed for the 100th anniversary, were available at both services. Twelve ministers have served the Lucknow congregation in I AAVAAVAVA/ASAAAAAA, its 100 year history. They are Rev. John B. Taylor, 1873-1882; Rev. John McNabb, 1882-1886; Rev. Duncan Cameron, :1882- 1886; Rev. Angus McKay , 1886 - 1904; Rev. D. T. Mc Kerr011 , 1904-1910; Rev. J. Duncan, 1910.- 1916;.Rev. R. McCallum ,.1917- 1925; Rev. C. H. MacDonald, 1925-1950; Rev. C. Winn, 1950- 1954; Rev. W. McClean., 1954- 1960; Rev. R. McLeod, 19.60-1968; Rev., G. Noble, 1969 - Three ministers went forth from the Lucknow congregation,' Rev. George Douglas, Rev. Douglas MacDonald and Rev. William 'Henderson; Lady missionaries from the.
