alarm sounded for the first time
since the dismantling of the fire-`

Leg Injured
In farm Mishap
On Saturday
Douglas Blake, 12-year -old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Blake' of the 9th of Ashfield, is a
'patient in Victoria Hospital in
London with a leg injury suffered,
in alarm accident Saturday even-
ing.
Doug's brother Greg was cultiv-
ating on the Blake farm'and was, .
just about done for the day.

She said it was over 60 years since,
she first began working with the
Society.
Oliver was pleased to present
Bob Campbell, a' recent Past Pres-
ident, with a Service Diploma
and Bob said in his remarks that'
it was through Oliver and Marion
that he first became interested in
the Lucknow 'Society and he would
continue to work for' the society
in the future. — --

Died In 67th Year
William F. Thompson of Toron-
to and a native of Lucknow, pas-
sed away in Toronto' Western Hos-
pital' on. Thursday, April 19th in
114 67th year.
The funeral service was held in
Toronto on Saturday morning with

A special event in the history
of the Lucknow Presbyterian
Church will, be marked this Sun-
day. .-
100th anniversary services will
be held morning and evening at
11 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. Guest
minister. will be Dr. Finlay Stew-
art of, Kitchener arid special mus-
ic will be prdvided by Mrs. Ed
Ebanks of London, Lloyd Stewart
-of Dundas and the, Lucknow choir
and quartette.
This is one of a series of spec-
ial services being held through-
out Centennial year at the
church, and being the I00th anni-
versary, can be considered high.

A Centennial history book
committee has prepared a book-
let which The Sentinel has just
completed printing and this 32
page booklet, containing' a .
wealth of history of the congrega-
don, ,will be available at, the
Sunday services.
Ripley - Huron To
Host Group
From Nova Scotia.
Ripley-Huron Central School
will participate in a project
known as "twinning" which' will
see 27 grade four pupils and 5
adults spend May 1st .ro 5th at
Ripley-Huron.
The, visiting class to Ripley-
Huron is from Sydney River, Nova.
Scotia.
They will arrive at Toronto
Airport on the' morning of May 1
and will be met by a. bus from
the Ripley school.' •
As this was written, the full
plans for the visit were not corn-
`pleted but it is expected that one
of the main parts of the program
will be to acquaint the visitors
:with'this particular area.
The local "twinning" project
'was initiated by Mrs. Bill Peter-
baugh. grade 4 teacher at Ripley-
ifluron.. Her class of 38'will be
hosts to the visitors, and they will'
be billeted with the local grade
four students'.
Grants are provided for
inter provincial visiting under' the
twinning plan; although no grants
are provided locally tb. the host
group for plans at this end,
