Surprise Parties,
Held To Honour...,
25th .Anniversary
Forty-seven Robinson relatives
• gathered 'at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Robinson •recently and
held a surprise party to honor
Mary and Roy on their 25th wed- -
• ding anniversary.'
Everyone enjoyed progressive
euchre. .George Robinson read an
address he had composed 'in
poetry. Charlie Robinson and
Mrs. Len Coyne presented the
celebrants with' a table lamp,
stainless steel silverWare and a
25th anniversary dish.
Leonard, Larry and Steven
presented their parents with a
card table and chairs and two
plaques,. They also received a-
25th anniversary plate.
Mary and Roy thanked everyone
and a buffet luncheon was served ,
which included a decorated cake.
Those attending from• a distance
were Mrs. Len Coyne, Mr. and "
Mrs. Ron Kirkham, Michael
Coyne of Windgor, Miss Mary
.Gionnandrea of Sarnia, Mr. and '
Mis. John .Phillion of Toronto and
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Weiss of
Kitchener. Others were from
Goderich, Auburn, Wingham
and Blyth.
On a recent Sunday 45 Humph-
rey relatives gathered at St.
Helens Hall to honor Mr. and
Mrs. Robinson pn their
anniversary. /
A turkey dinner was enjoyed
which included a decorated cake.
Lorne Humphrey Spoke briefly
and Roy and Mary were presented
with a set of dishes, stainless
steel silverware, pair of pillow
cases, set of cream and sugar 'on
a tray, relish dish and silver
hitter dish. Roy and Mary thank-
ed everyone for the lovely after-'
noon.
Those attending from a
distance were Mr.° and Mrs.
Lorne Humphrey and 'family. Mr.
and Mrs. Dave Keil and 'family
of Cambridge, Miss Linda Snow-
den and Dave Bosman of Londoh,
Miss Carol Webster and Donald
Vincent of London, Mt. and Mrs.
. Terry Rutledge of Clinton.
Others Were-from Lucknow
Wingham and St. Helens district,
Mrs. Robinson is the former Mary
HuMphrey, daughter of W. A.
Humphrey-and the late Mrs.
Humphrey of St 'Helens.'

Honoured At
Family Dinner
Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Lane
marked their golden wedding
anniversary at a surprise fimily
dinner at Str'athroy.
The Strathrdy Country Club's
dining -room Was prettily decor-
ated with, yellow and cream
chrysanthemums accented with
gold centred daisies, Gold col-
oured tablecloths and glassware,
and colOurfulcake and pike-
cards, complimented the setting:
After the meal, they returned
to the home of theiyaughter,
Mrt. CaMpbell Brown, to enjoy
'social afternoon:. All the fam-
ily, and a few close friends,
were present to enjoy the delic-
ious smorgasbord.
Mr. and Mrs. Lane haVe one
daughter, Kathileen,..Mrs.
Campbell Brown, Strathroy, and
four sons Everett of Dunnville, ,
John of Port Elgin, and Hugh and
Stewart of Kinlough. There are
nine granchildren and One great
granddaughter. The family
presented the couple with a fam-
ily'ring and a gold. watch.
Mr. Lane and the former
Myrtle Congram, were married
'April 4th, 1923 'at the home of
the bride's parents, the late Mr.
and Mrs. Wrn. Congrarri, Conces•
sion 8 Kinloss Township. Rev.
Andrew Lane, brother of the
groom, performed the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Lane have lived
all their lives in Kinloss TcAsrn-
ship, 'having farmed all their
married life on the ,farm, on •
which they and their ton Hugh
now reside. Both enjoy excel-
lent health and still are active in
helping, maintain their home;''
Mr. and Mrs. Lane received
scrolls fit om Prime Minister. Trul ,
Beau and the Province of Ontario,
with congratulatory messages
from Robert Nixon, Ross Whicher
and Murray Gaunt •
' The happy couple have receiv-
ed miny congratulatoiy cards,
telegrams ; and gifts frorn friends
and-relatives, as well as a parv,
given by the neighbours.
OBITUARY
RUSSELL C. HEWITT
Russell C. Hewitt passed away
on April 1, 1973 in Kincardine
General Hospital. Born in Green-
ock Township, •April 13,,1897, he
was the son of Alexander Hewitt
and Catharine MatDonald.
In 1927 he, married the former
Mabel Sheane.and they farmed
on No. 9 Highway, east of Bervie
for 35 years. Retiring in 1962 the
Hewitts moved to Kinlough where
they resided' for eleven years.
They moved to Kincardine in the
fall of 1972. Left to mourn his
passing besides his widow, Mab-
el, are four brothers, Wallace of
Waterford:, Lenwood of Saskatoon,
Dean and Jack of Kinloss and one
sister. Mrs. George (Belle) Gra-
ham of Kinlough. A sister, Mrs.
Albert (Kelso) Young pred00:PA
ed him in 1972.
Mr. Hewitt was a member, of
the 'Kingarf Anglican Church grid
a life member of 'Kinloss Loyal
Orange Lodge. No. 898. The
Lodge held Memorial Services at
the' Linklater Fun'eral • Home• on
Tuesday evening with a, large _
nUmber of members attending.
Pallbearers were Albert Stan-
ley, Ellison Hodgins, Delmer
Lindsay, William Haldenby,
Bert Nicholson and Tom Mac- '
Donald. The flower bearers were
Glenn Young, Albert Hewitt and .
Rev. Alex Hewitt.
Funeral Services were held .
Wednesday, April 4th, from the
Linklater Funeral Home with the
Rev. William Townson of the
Church• of the Messiah officiating.
Interment was in Kincardine '
Cemetery.
