Two GAMES TO LEAD LUCKNOW ATTACK •
Juveniles Down 3-1 In Havelock Series .
After..Weekepd.That. .5* A Win
On SaturdaSaturday And Atost Sundt*.
Lucknow Juvenile hockey team,
after losing the first two games
in the. Ontario Minor Hockey
Association Juvenile "D" finals,
bounced back in the third game
in.Lucknow and completely out-
played the Havelock team here
'on. Saturday night. Lucknow won
the game 10-4. The first two
games, which Lucknow lost,
Were played in Havelock the
previous week end.
LucknoW was completely in
control on Saturday nrght and
shOwed some fine -passing com-
binations that were a treat to
watch.
Lucknow went ahead 1-0 early
in the •first and never looked
back. By the end of the first'
period it was a 3-1 score in fav-
our of the Sepoys.
In the second period the,
score ended 6-2 with Lucknow
carrying the play throughout.
By the end of:the third period
Lucknow increased. the lead' to
4
,
10- with some fine net minding
throughout the, game by Dave Cle-
land.
Jim Murray led the. Lucknow
team scoring six of the .ten goals"
in Saturday's game. Steve
Hackett, Ian Montgomery,' Kevin
Murray and Bob Moffat each scor-
ed once.
SUNDAY'S GAME WAS
-A' DIFFERENT STORY
The smooth working Lucknow
team, very evident on,Saturday
night, was not working nearly as •
well in Sunday's encounter.
Offensively; the< team lacked
the polished form of what they are
capable of. Hampered a great
deal by wet and sticky ice,
IxQught on by the warm tempera-
tures of Sunday, the passing of
the team suffered badly. Defen-
sively, the LucknoW team was
badly off form with poor clearing,
checking and covering causing
several goals against them. Final'
score was 12-10 for Havelock.
Havelock took a 3-1 lead 'early
in the 1st, period, but by .the end
of the first it was 4-3 for Lucknow.
.Lucknow went ahead quickly in
the second and led 6-3, but by '
the' end of the period they had
blown a comfortable lead and the
score was 8-7 for Havelock.
Havelock went ahead 9-7 early
in the third, but with 'about ,5
minutes left to play, Lucknow hal
tied the score 9-9. Then • •
• it was 10-9 for Havelock with
Lucknpw tying it up 10-10 with
about three minutes to play.
Havelock scored the winning goal
a few seconds later and' an insur-
ance goal with the Lucknow net
empty in the .final seconds.
Jim Murray, a real steady goer
On 'the Lucknow forward line,
scored another six goals on Sun-
day, making 12 goals in the. two
games. Other marksmen Sunday..
were Daye Black, Dale Hunter,
Ian Montgomery and Kevin Mur-
ray.
'The fifth game in the 'best -of-
seven series is scheduled for
Havelock on Thursday night at
8 p.M. If Lucknow win, a sixth
game would be played here on .
Saturday night, at 8 p.m. and
the• seventh game, if necessary,
would be back in Havethck Sun-
day .at

Skating Club Makes
1973 - 74 Plans
Mothers of members of Lucknow
Skating Club met Tuesday even-
ing of last week in. the Mayfair
Banquet Room. Many plans
were made for the 1973-74 sear
son.
Mrs. Bruce Brady of Bayfield,
professional skatei, who' taught
the Club •this past year has been
hired for the '73-'74 season at
$12 per hour, $2 more per hour
than last year:
The senior girls of the Club
have asked for more' ice time.
The Recreation Committee has
been approached but it is. not
known yet whether the extra time
is available:
Material was purchased and
skirts for the girls and vests for
the boys were made before
Achievement Night. It was
decided to,keep the Material
left as it could prObably be used
another year.
The senior girls will be attend-
ing coaches clinic and next sea-
son will be. assisting with the
yciunger children. It is hoped
some of the mothers will also
help during classes.'
It was suggested that the figure
skating rules be followed more
strictly next season. More dres-,',
sing rooms will be available for
the club.
