merry, to laugh and to cry.

period was the Resurrection and
was well presented by Mrs. Ernest
Ackert Jr. , Mrs. Alex. Andrew

poetry , scripture and .prose to re-
veal the sadness and gladness of
.it. These questions were left with
us , Where do I see Christ? Why
do I see Christ? and When do I'
'see Christ? The offering 'was
received by. Mrs. Clarence Greer
and Miss Lena Robinson and ded -
icated by Miss.Helen Thompson.
The "Good Intentions" , a teen
age choral grbup from Teeswat-
er , were present and, delighted
the audience with four, numbers.
Mrs. Ernest Ackert introduced
the guest speaker Mrs. Marion
Harrison of Atwbod , who gave a
very fine illustrated talk on her
recent trip to India. She had
accompanied Mrs. Marg. Henry
of Listowel, whose son is with
Unicef in Delhi sharing in Agric-
ulture Development. They plan-
ned ,their own trip, visiting such
places as Bombay, Madras-and
Ceylon. She reminded us that we
have a great part to play in see-
ing that the people of India be
taught to help themselves.
A question and, answer period
followed her talk which proved
enlightning to all present as 'our
mission study is 'on India this
year. Mrs. Bert Alton thanked' •
the speaker and the meeting was
closed with hyrim
A social time was enjoyed
with unit 5 in charge of serving
refreshments. •

school was busy with a contest in
which the children bought guesses
on how many bubble gums were
in a jar. The winner was a
grade one student, Betty Jane For

the school, excursion to. Maple• .
Ridge, British Columbia , which
•will take place early in the Fall.
Volleyball games between
St., Joseph's school and Sacred
Heart, Wingham were played at
week with Mr. and Mrs. Lloy,d
Johnston and Donna Marie. On
Saturday Mrs. Johnston was taki-
en to the Wingham and District
Hospital. ' We wish her improved

the consumer, boycott in the U.S..
has put downward pressure on
cattle and hog prices at the farm
level.
The removal of tariffs on meat
and live animals from the U.S.
, by the Federal Government in
:its budget leaves Canadian prod-,
users very vulnerable to dumping '
of meat from U.S..
To avoid this, the government
should temporarily close the
border on S: imports of
all ive and dressed meats until ,
the U.S. crisis has had an Oppor-
tunity to settle 'down from the cur.
rent turbulence .at its own, expense,
not ours. . .
The, whole incident once again
shows' that farriers, will always be
!vulnerable in the marketplace
'until they organize together and
have collective' bargaining power.
Kingsbridge last Monday,. The.
Kingsbridge boys won over Wing-
ham,two games to one, while the
Wingham girls won over the, Kings-
bridge girls two gamei to one.
The Kingsbridge girls basket-
ball team played St. Mary's
school, Goderich last Wednes-
day'and were 'beaten by a score
of 27-4.
