THAT Clayton Nicholson of Rip-
ley was a recent winner of $500

area swimming pool project.
Clayton is president of the new
Ripley Lions Club and is also

now had a pot luck supper on
March 28th in the Assembly

Co-op Bulk Blender fertilizer
plant took, place on Tuesday after-
noon of last week at the Co-op
plain at the north end of town.
Chairman for the brief cerem-
onies at the opening was presid-
ent of the Co-op, Evan Keith of
Kinloss Township. The. Co-op
fertilizer plant has undergone a
rebuilding and improvement
project since fire seriously damag-
ed the building last winter. Mr.
Keith paid tribute to the work of
the staff who had worked under
difficult circumstances following
the fire
The new, plant has a •
capacity to Unload about 30 tons
per hour from under car to elevat-
or, eleVator into the building and
onto conveyers which in turn fill
the storage bins. The new blend-
er has an output capacity of
about 20' torts per hour. Through
added mechanization, the bulk
fertilizer end of the business has
been reduced to a one man opera-
tion.
Prior to the' fire about 70% of
the fertilizer 'output was in bulk.
The new facility has storage fl
700 tons of bulk and .600 tons
bagged fertilizer. '
