Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Lane
of the 14th concession of KinlOss
Township marked their 50th wed-
ding• anniversary on Wednesday,
April 4th.
Mr. and Mrs. Lane reside on
the. Lane family farm vvhere Mac
was born. It, is just west of the
Holyrood to Kinloss road and
borders the highway, 1 1/4 miles
north of Kinlough.
They were married at the home
of the • bride's parents, Mr. and

double ring ceremony uniting in
marriage Cheryl Ann Perry and
Donald Gordon. McQuillin on Feb;
ruary 17, 1973. Rev. Gordon
Pickell performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Besso, Sarnia.
The groom's parents are. Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon McQuillin, Sarnia.

Susan Graham, Sarnia. Dave

A wedding dinner was held •at
the Canterbury Inn, Sarnia. A
reception followed at the home
of the groorres.parents, 1064

The, young couple will reside
in London where the groom is ern;
ployed with Dominion Dairies as
a territorial 'manager.
Don'is the grandson of, Mr.
and Mrs. Richard McQuillin,
Holyrood, Ontario.

the ceremony was the groom's
brother, Rev.' Andrew Lane,
minister at Drumbo at that
time. Flower girl was Joy Hend-
erson.
' They have a family of four
sons and , a daughter, Everett'of
Dunville, Hugh who resides with
his parents, Mrs. Campbell
(Kathileen)13rown of Strathroy,
John of Port Elgin and Stewart of
the 12th of Kinloss. They have
9grandchildren and 1 great grand-
daughter.
Rev. Andrew Lane of Goderich
and Malcolm Lane are the last
surviving members of a family
of seven 'boys and two girls. Mrs.
Lane has a sister Mrs. Harry ,
(Phoebe) Campbell, of Armow
and a brother Cecil Congrarn of
Holyrood. „

St. Joseph's school was giVen be-
cause the Department of Educa-
tion had heard of the successful
public speaking program offered
'in our schodl. On Monday,
March 26th, threedifferent,
.schools were phoned and tuned
into the station. One school was
in Ingersoll, one in Harnilton
and the other was St. Joseph's
school, Kingsbridge. The guest
speakers, Joyce' Cianflone and
Patty Siccucci, were grade 6
students from St. Ann's school,
Niagara Falls, 'Ontario. Each
student on the phone asked the
same number of questions• about '
Niagara Falls. The question
topics ranged from the origin of
the falls to the present erosion
of the falls. This prOgrani will
be aired over CBC Radio on April
16th at 2.03 p.m. '

Miss Maureen Bradley returned
from a trip to Hawaii 'to the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Brad-
ley. ,Her sisters Movita and
Michele displayed a pineapple
brought from' the South Sea Is-
land at North Ashfield School,
which was cut in pieces, and ,
served to all the children. It was
very sweet and delfcious.
