55th ANNIVERSARY
On Saturday evening Mrs.
Russel McGuire's parents Mr. and
Mrs.' Clendon Bramhill of Palmer-
. :ston celebrated their 55th wedding
anniversary, at Kurtzville Hall,
where the supper was catered to by
the Recreation Group o1 KUrtz7
ville area. Their family, grand-
children and great grandchildren
were present for the-wedding"din-'
ner., the brothers and sisters of the
couple attended for the evening
variety program and showing of
slides. Mr. and Mrs. Bramhill
were presented' with money for
a colored TV. The S great grand•
children presented their grandpar-
ents with corsages. The family
and friends presented them with
3 bouquets of flowers. The coin-
• munity extends their congratula-
tions.

held their MarCh meeting April
1st in the Sunday-SchoOl Room.
The call to worship was given
by the leader. All sang the hymn
Praise Him, Cindy Moore led
in prayer. Thp, scripture was read
by Calvin Quipp. The offering
was received by Shane Hickey and
David Thomson. , •
Mrs., Ivan Laidlaw told the
story of The Pump that Went
Travelling. A discussion follow
ed on The uses of Water. Pictur-
es of the uses were pasted
on a poster.

ed with prayer.

On Tuesday last grades 1, 2,
3 and 4 of Lucknow public
school accompanied by their
teachers Mrs. Campbell, Mrs.
Liddle and Mrs. Bell went in two
hises to a Maple sugar bush owned
by Mr. Anstett. Those, from
the Village who were on the trip
were delighted to tell hoW the'
sap was taken frOni the trees and
made into syrup. • Great was the
enjoyment to eat their lunch in
the bush.
This community extends con-
gratulations to Mr. and Mrs. John
Miles (nee Ann Weber), *ho' were
married at her home on Friday '
at 8 p.m. with the wedding din-
ner attended by 28 in. White-
.church Hall at 6.30. Mr. and
Mrs., Miles Will be residing in an
apartment at Wingham, where
Mrs. Miles is on the staff of
Bank of Commerce.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson,
Darlene, Sharon and Orenda of
St. Catharines and their uncle
Dave Gignac of Sudbury, spent
the week end with Mr. and Mrs.

Memorial Hall, the proceeds
to be used to pay the cost 'of
painting the hall.

WHITECHURCH NEWS
On Thursday evening, around
25 residents of Whitechurch 'gather
ed to meet with' Kinloss Township
Council at Whitechurch Com-
munity Memorial Hall to disciiss
the buying of new street lights
for the village.

Reeve "Leo Murray had receiv-
ed approximate figures on the .
cost of new lights with addition
of extra pole, The rough estirh-
ate was $1650 with $1299 of
this to be absorbed by 28 homes.
After much discutsion it `Was`
moved by Erners6n Hickey and
seconded by Russel Chapman
that' the village go ahead and
secure more information on a new
street lighting system. This was
unanimously carried.
