W.O.A A. Championship To Teeswater
KINGSBRIDGE TROUNCE LUCKNOW 'IN CONSOLATION SERIES
Holyrood Wins Town and Country Hockey
Playoffs, Receive Trophy Sunday Nile elled to Teeswater to play the
final and deciding game: It, was
close up until the end of the sec-
ond. period as Teeswater held a
4 ,2 edge; However ..:Teeswater
skated away in the third to win
7 -3 .
Teeswater were presented with .
the W.O.A.A. Trophy and Luck-
now were classified as runners-
up.
The`-Pee Wees have done very
well this season defeating this
same Teeswater team to enter
into the 0.M.H.A. playoffs.
They were later eliminated by
the tough Cayuga team.
. Thanks are extended to these
boys who played outStandingly
and ,gave everything they had
this season.
Belmore Girls
Win 34 , Go
One Up In Series
On Tuesday, March 27 the Luck
now girls team came up against
.Belmore in the first game of the
finals. Lucknow w#s short-handed
with only eight players, as some
of the girls were still vacationing.
Belmore outnumbered and out-,
scored the Lucknow team. In the
third period Belmore had Scored
3 goals and Lucknow hadn't•scored
any. Then Donna Moffat, on a
pass from' Lorraine Boyle,
scored Lucknow's first and only
goal. •
The game finished u15 Belmore
3, Lucknow 1, It is hoped that
Lucknow will come on
strong in the next game when
more players are in action.
On Thursday night, Kintail
defeated .Holyrood 4,-3 and Luck-
now' won over. Kingsbridge 8-7
to make another game necessary
in the Town and .Country hockey
playoffs-.
Kintail goals were scored by
Kevin Austin, Ben Van Diepen-
beek, Roy Emberlin and Doug
Scott. Holyrood goals were by
Allan Rhody 2-and Wayne Rhody
1.
The same teams met again
on Sunday night with 300 fans on
hand to view the performance.
Kintail scored first, Holyrood
tied things up ,in the second,
then never looked back. The
final score was 5-2 in favour of
Holyrood who won the champion-
ship.
Goal scorers were,' dr fiblyrood .
Gert De Jong 2, Allan Rhody 1,
Alymer Ackert '1, and 'Floyd Stan-,
ley 1. •
For Kintail it,was Bob Simpson
and Sandy Simpson, one each.
Kintail had 11 penalties and
Holyrood 6.
After the game Bill Hunter, press
ented the trophy to the team for
the second straight year.
In the consolation series kings-
bridge had trouble with the
floundering Lucknow team, The
final score was 9-0 for Kings-
bridge. Somewhere along the
line- the game sheet got lost. as to
who got the goals.
Congratulations to Kingsbridge
and Holyrood for repeat perform-
ances and these 'teams will be
back next year. Also thanks to
the fans who supported the teams.

first peribd and Grant Gilchrist
in the third , gave Lucknow the
2-1 decision over Teeswater.
