On Thursday, March 15, Luck-
now Central, Public School held ,
a most successful sale to raise
money for the Junior Red Cross.
Comic books, novas, paper-
• backs, toys., clothing, and baked '
goods were brought to school dur-
,ing the week; Thursday morning
the teachers and some of the pitp-:
ils got the gym set up ready" for -
the sale. Mrs. McMurray's class'
did the decorations.
On Wednesday and Thursday,
1¢ tickets were sold for draws oh
cakes 6 a baby doll in 'a bassinette
and two wall plaques. rhere
were prizes for, the people 'guess-
ing the correct number of peanuts
in a jar' and the correct number of
jelly beans in a vase,.
At 1 p.m. the sale started, with
each class having one period to
shop. There were 'White Ele-
phant" tablei with various prices
from 10 to 500 for 1the "goodies".,

On Tuesday, March,13th, the
Brownie' meeting opened with
Kimberley Cooke conducting two
singing games, "London Bridge"
and "One Of Us Has Gone Away".

Many thanks go to all the par-
ents who contributed things 'for the
sale and to all the students who
worked so hard. It was a worth-
while project, and $152.28 was
raised for the Junior Red Crost.
