The March meeting of the
afternoon• Auxiliary of the WOrn-'
en's Missionary ,Society of the
Lucknow Presbyterian Church was
held at the home of Mrs. Wm.
Porteous with a good attendance.
Mrs. Morgan Henderson was in the
chair, and opened the meeting
with verses appropriate to the
season. Scripture reading from
the Psalms, and prayer by Mrs.
Noble Johnston followed.
The Bible Study on Obedience
was given by Mrs. Philip Stew-
art.' A notice from the Supply,
Secretary'regarding the,
allocation for 1973 was read. Roll
call was answered by a verse 'from
the Gospel of St. Luke. Mrs.
Henderson gage the offertory
prayer. •
The hymn, What a friend we
have in Jesus was followed by. the
Glad Tidings review by Mrs. Jas.
Sthith, and Mrs. Jas. Little• read
the poem "The. Master's Touch".
Mrs. Porteous made the study 'on
India very interesting, getting
her information from various
sources as well as the study 'book.
The visiting committee, report—
ed On their •visits to new-comers
and• sick and shut-ins. Mrs. 1.013t
Mbffatt closed the meeting with
prayer.
A cup of tea and social half •
hour was enjoyed after the meet-
ing. •
Lucknow Unit I
Mrs. Wesley• Ritchie was hostess
for. Unit 1 of Lucknow United
Church Women: Mrs. E. W,
Rice presided and opened with
a poem. Mrs. H. Barger read the,
scriptuie and Mrs. Wilbur Brown
for meditation lead "Compassion
and the World's.Need" and led in
prayer.

.During, the past weeks the Luck-
now C.G.I.T. girls have been ,
doing the India Mission Study. At
each meeting the girls have. been
trying yoga exercises with Marion
Mowbray, the leaders and Lynda
Campbell helping at different
sessions.
The girls have, dramatized situ-
ations of Indian young people, re-
searched education in' India from
the book "Mother India's Child- .
ten" and viewed a filM on
Hinduism. Mrs. Mary Malhotra,
an Indian lady who was born and
trained for a nurse inindia , show-
ed slides and answered the many
questions about India. She also
showed the group how to put on a
sari.
Brenda -MacDonald and Nancy
Ritchie helped with an Indian
worship service. The girls are
singing with a record "Songs for
India Year" and will be trying'
a sari, dance to cassette tape mus-
ic. They also are looking for-
ward to trying Batik.
,On March 5th, Cathy Jamieson
and Susan Clark led the group ;
in the Youth World Day of Prayer
Service. In a few weeks the
group 'will be making chocolate
coyered., fondant Easter eggs to
raise money for their foster child,
Marleny Millones in Peru.

Thursday, March 8, the regul -
ar meeting`of Trinity United
Church Women was held at the
home of Mrs. Warren Zinn,• with
an attendance of 23 ladies and
two children. The meeting, open-,
ed with a verse by the president
Mrs. Jirri Hunter, followed by the
singing, of hymn 4.0. All'repeat -
ed the Lord's Prayer in unison.
Mrs. Ralph Cameron read the
scdptuie, from Luke 16 and Mrs.
Alex"Hackett gave the •
meditation. ,
Mrs. Jim Arnold gave the Study
Book on India, also some ques-
tions. Mrs. Ralph Cameron clos-
ed the devotions with prayer.
Mrs. Allan Ritchie gave ,a report
On the Regional Meeting at' Sea-
forth.
Mrs. Warren Zinn gave the
treasurer's'report, Mrs. Donald
Hackett reported for the Supply '
Work, and the quilts. Mrs. Ken
Alton conclueted a contest .on
People of the Bible, following ,
with a Bible Study, on understand-
ing the Parables in the Bible.
The Apron Contest was held,
and Mrs. • Blake and Mrs. Reid
'from /Dungannon • kindly judged
the aprons for us. Winners were
large work apron, Mrs. Alex
Hackett; fancy apron, Mrs. Jerry
Cranston; small work apron, -,
Mrs. Jim Arnold.
Mrs. Hummel closed the
meeting with prayer., A dainty
lunch was served by the commit-.
tee in charge, during which,
Mrs. Ken. Alton read the "Trin-
ity Tattler"• which provided some
laughs for everyone present. The
hostess for the next meeting is
Mrs. D. A. Hackett.

The March meeting of South
Kinloss. Women's Missionary Soc-
iety was held at the home of Mrs.
Harold Campbell. The President,
Mrs. Bruce Hamilton opened the
meeting by the reading of a poem.
Hymn 49* was sung and the Lord's
Prayer repeated. Mrs. Hamilton
Welcomed all. There was an
attendance of 21 members and
4 children. An, invitation from
the Evening,Auxiliary of Lucknow
Presbyterian Church -to 'attend -a
meeting Tuesday evening; April
17th at 8 p.m. was accepted.'
A yeading was ,given by Mrs.
Fraser MacKinnon entitled "God
give me Grace". 'The Bible
study followed - John 11. this
was led by Mrs. Lorne Sparks
with reading and question and
answers by thoSeprepent. Mrs.
Ira Dickie -gave an excellent re- •
view of the March Glad' Tidings:
The roll call was answered by
'Naming. an Indian Missionary.
The offering was received with
Mrs. Lloyd MacDoagall giving
the offertory prayer.
A film "Do We Care" was
shown by Mrs.. Fraser MacKinnon
and Mrs. Lloyd MacDougall

Study of India. The meeting
was favoured 'by a solo "He Died
For Me" by Mrs. Philip Steer.
Mrs. Allan MacDougall, Mrs.

the meeting with a reading "A
Thought For Each Day" and a
prayer. Hymn. 445 was sung .with
Mrs. Peter Cook at the piano.
The roll call was answered •
with an article for a layette.
There was: an attendance of 23
members 1 visitor and 1 child.
Plans were' made for the Easter
Thankoffering on March 8th.
Mrs. Don Cardis gave the visitor's
report. Everyone signed a card to
be sent to Miss Ada. Webster who
is a patient in University, HoSpital,

fugees from Uganda for Christian

farming conditions,and the prob-
lerns of producing enough food for
their large poptilation.'
