The regular meeting of the
Lucknow Girl Guides opened,
Thursday, March 1st with roll
call' ,and flag raising by the Robin
Patrol, followed by the singing of
0 Canada.
In Horseshoe formation the
following girls received, their 4
year service stars: Jill Murrayand
Janet ,Wilkins .
Captain Helm congratulated the
girls on the hard work put into
the displays for Thinking Day;
In Patrol Corners Sandra Finlay
related a 'story to the Bluebird,
Patrol as part of a 'badge she
is working on toward her Canada
Cord.
Mrs. Helm then tested the
second'class girls•on their fire
precautions in preparation for
the Fire Brigade Badge. Tender-
foot tests were passed by Barbara
Hackett and' Faye Forster.
Kathryn McKim led campfire.
The meeting Closed with Vespers
and Taps.
Society of Huron County.
While the ladies quilted , the ,
president , Mrs. Allan Miller
conducted the business of the
W.I.
The roll call was answered by
an,lrish -joke or 10¢ .
The District President , Mrs.
Harold Gaunt spOke briefly to the
ladies. .
Current Events were given. by
Miss Isobel Miller.
An Irish sing song was enjoyed
with Mrs; E. W. Rice at the
piano.'
Mrs. Ross Gammie and Mrs.
Gordon Struthers served lunch
when the quilts were finished.
Injured Twice
In Hockey Games

It.was reported last week in
this column that Gary' Farrell re-
ceived facial injuries while play-
ing hockey on.Sunday, which
caused -Gary to have, stitches and
his left 'eye to swell shut,. On
Tuesday while. playing in Wing,-
ham, Gary Was hit With a4 stick
causing him'to have 6 more
stitches and his right eye to swell,
Hockey can be `rough but twice in
one week seers too fnuch. How-
ever Gary' was able to play
against Lion's Head on Sunday.

Margie ,were Mrs. Martha Patter-
son and Mr. and Mrs. Merrald
Kuehl, Mark' and Ann of Water-
loo and Mrs. Sam Wismer also of
Waterloo. Mr. and Mrs. .Collins
spent .Saturday in Goderich with
Mr. .and Mrs. Ed MC—Gillivray.
Mr, and Mrs. Jack Farrell'and.
family spent Saturday at Water-
loo where they enjoyed' the St.
Mary's basket ball game.

cholesterol and low calorie diets,
showing us how to shop for proper
foods and still have -a balanced
and varied diet.
The TOps Club is presently
looking for a set of balance
scales for weigh-in, so if anyone
knows of a Set , the type used 4 '
for weighing grain etc. please
let us know: '
An order of charms has arrived,
and these will be 'given out next
week.
A new executive will be pick-
ed to take, over the first of
April. •
