Catherine MacGregor Marks Her 100th Birthday

Lucknow's oldest resident, mark-
ed her 100th birthday on MarCh
5th.

Catherine MaCGregor.Was born
in Cape Breton, Nova Seotia , on
March 5, 1873, a daughter of
N. MacGregor and Jessie
MacKenzie. At the age of eight;
een she came to Aslifield with
her parents but for the 'past sev -
enty years has. been a resident of
Lucknow , where for many4 years
her services as a seamstress were
much in demand. •

The Youngs have been raising
Chinchillas since last summer.
Despite the dollar loss on the
animals, they consider themselves
fortunate in still having a home.

Culross Township
Has Local Ties
The position of Clerk-Treas-
urer for Culross Township has
been accepted by Murray Hack-
ett of London, formerly of Port
Elgin.
Murray is 24 years old and is
presently attending Western Uni-
versity, London, specializing in
Municipal Governipent. He has
a B.A. degree from . Western and
was with Hydro at , Douglas'Point
for one year. He is married to
the forriner Judy Esplan and they
have a two-year-old son Mike.
Mrs. Hackett's mother is the
former Mildred McInnes of Cul-
