Italy was displayed by both the
Robin and Scarlet Tanager Pat-
rob, each depicting a different
aspect of the country. Both
Patrols served pizza 'which was a
great favourite among the girls
and their guests. The Scarlet
Tanager Patrol also served spag-
etti.
The girls put a great deal of
work and effort into their displays
and should be Congratulated for
doing so.

Cake in the shape of the' Trefoil
and each person was served a
piece during campfire.
Hostesses for' the evening
were Kathryn McKim, Ettabelle
MacDonald and Kathy Brooks.
Campfire, led by Ettabelle
MacDonald, was joined by the
Kingsbridge Guides and leaders.
Vespers and Taps closed the
meeting.
Couple Mark
50th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Raynard,
234 Oxford Street, Goderich,
celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary recently at which
time they were at home to friends
and relatives.
On. Saturday; February 7 the
family entertained their parents
to a dinner.
The coupie were married by,
the Rev. Charles. Cummings' of
_ the St. Helens Presbyterian
Church at the home of her par- . • ents. They are members of the
same church in Goderich.
Mts. Raynard. is the former
Violet Drennan, daughter of the
late Mr.' and Mrs. James G. Dren
nan, Goderich. Mr.. Raynard the
son of, the late Mr. and Mrs.' Max
Raynard LucknoW.: The couple
farmed in Ashfield Township till
moving to Goderich 1943.

They have daughters. Gertrude,
Mrs. Ralph Blackstone of Scar
borough, Winnifred, Mrs. Bruce
Chaprhan of, London, eight grand
children, three great grandchild-
ren.
Many cards, gifts and' flowers
Were received by the couple. •
Among their were floWers and
greeting from Mayor Harry Wor-
sell and the town of Goderiah.

MRS. DONALD THOMPSON
Christena Douglas Thompson
passed, away at the Medix Nurs-
ing Centre ,^ Oshawa on February.
27 and where she had been a pat-
ient Since last July.- She was in
her eighty-eighth year.
Mrs. Thompson was :"born the
former Christena Douglas; eldest
daughter of the pioneer Roderiek
Douglag family in Ashfield in
1885. She attended Kintail
scho01. In 190,4 the .family
ed . to the 4th of Huron, For a.
time she worked in Detroit.
In 1913 she married Donald ..
Thompson who predeceased her in
1959. They resided on the 4th of
litiron. For a. time following
her, husband's death she resided
with her son John D. Due to
failing eyesight in 1960 she went
to Oshawa and has resided there
With her daughter, Christine.
They returned regularly to the
farnily home in Huron and she
had a wide circle of friends.
She is survived by her daughters
Christine of .Oshawa and Mrs. Stan
(Grace Chambers) of Toronto and
het sons John D. of Huron, Roy
and. Allan of Toronto, Murray of • •
Hamilton and 'fOur grandchildren.
Two sisters Mrs:. Hilton (Cassie)
McKee and Rhoda and a brother
Donald of Alberta survive.
The funeral service was held
on Saturday, February 24th at the
