We opened with the 4-11 Pledge Nancy Ritohie read Me minutes' of the last meeting. Audrey Ritchie then gave the treasurer's report. . • . Elizabeth .Ritchie and Mrs., Ritchle'domonstrated art gum er- aser'printing. We looked at their, art gum erasers that they did at training school,. • We.made our potato printing for our record book. Elizabeth Ritchie told us about paints, inks and stamp pads. Mrs. Ritchie then talked about designs on greeting cards and Vegetable Printing which we are- to fill out for the next meeting. We closed with the 4-H Creed. gave her report. Plans for Achievement. Day were discussed. Heads Stomperettes All meetings of Silver Lake Stamperettes 4-H Club are open- ed with the 4-1-1 pledge. , There is no secretary and all members keep notes and must be prepared at anytime to read their minutes: The President, elected by ballot at the first meeting, was Barbara Stanley, the vice president \ Sharon Thompson.• The assistant leader, Mrs. Marjorie Nicholson; is acting as treasurer. The Press Report is a combined effort made up at the ,meetings. The other members are Dianne Bannerman, Joanne van 'Beer , Sandra Thomp- son, Valerie Stanley, Janice • Stanley and Eugenia Kiesweiter. The first meeting was held on January 29. at 7 p.m. at the home of Joanne van: Beer: , the second On February 5 at 7 p.M. at the home of Barbara Stanley , the third on February 12 at 7 p.m. at the home of the Assistant leader Marjorie Nicholson, •the fourth on February 19 at 7 p.m. at the home 'of Dianne Banner- man. - The meetings are planned for two hours but it has been found that the girls become so interest- ed in the praCtical work that the time may have to be extended. Some of the girls have 'come Up with some excellent , designs. Achievement Day has been discussed and the girls—are ent an exhibit entitled "Colour Effects in Block Printing". It was "Show samples Of art gum eraser printing" Three or four girls from the club are interested in attending Bruce County Day in Walkerton. Plans were made f& this day. Achievement Day was discussed. Mrs. Boyle demonstrated how to make a dauber. Each girl made one. Suggested articles to make froth paper decorated,with a block printed design were dis- cussed. Each girl cut a design for a greeting card into a. 2," x 3" art gum eraser. These:designs were • put, onto cards using a stamp pad. The meeting closed with 'the 4-H Creed. A rtis .tic' 7 The fourth meeting of the Cloy- era Valley Artistic 7 4-H Club, was held at the home of Donna Elphick at I1 4.15' on Tuesday ; Feb- ruary 13. The meeting opened with the 4-H Pledge led by Joyce Osborne the President. 'The minutes of the last meeting were read by, Annette Elphick. The next meeting is to be held on. Tuesday, February 20 at Wendy Hamilton's at 4.15. Mrs. Hamilton discussed artic- les that can be block printed and Mrs. Elphick discussed the dauber and showed how to make it. plans were discussed for Achieveinent Day for a, skit by 'all present. The girls then worked on a 2" x 3" eraser to make a design for a •greeting card. The meeting closed with the 4-H Creed. Paint Puddlers The fourth meeting of the Luck. now Paint Paddlers was held at the school on February 14 at 7.00 p.m. Sandra Henderson, "vice president led the five Members present in the 4-H Pledge. The folks in this area are •proud of Margie and feel she was deserving of 'the title. Away on two weeks holidays to'the West are Dick McCosh and Donnie Thompson'. , The boys left on Monday and plan to . visit Mike and Maryanne Kukoly at The Pas, Manitoba and' expect to' take in the Trappers Festival, also in Manitoba. Other guests of the Kukolys were Mr. and ,Mrs.,Bruce Colwell and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Munroe (Sandra'Percyl. Mr. and Mrs.' Harvey Thomp- son and Wray were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson - and Robbie on Sunday. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Burton -Collins and Margie on .the week end were Sandra and Ed McGillivraY of Goderich and Gary Brames of Listoviel. • Sonic from this area attended° the Juvenile Hockey game in Lucknow on Sunday and saw Ripley defeated by the Luck- now team. • Miss Kendra Feagan of Wing- ham spent the week end with Vicki Dore. • AND -TALK :T Many from here attended the reception dance held for Mr. and Mrs. Dale Armstrong in Bervie on Friday.
