male and 'a mixed went to
Wiarton on February 9 'to coLi-
pete. in the annual B.I.A. tourna-
ment. 6arry MacDonald , Boyd
Carruthe.rs, Sandy k and
John Huston formed the male
team who played their games by
the point, system. They bowed
to Saugeen's first team in, their
first match but chalked up two
' straight victories over Chesley , •
and. Saugeen's second team in
the next efforts.. Their points
earned them fourth position be-
hind Kincardine, Wiarton and
Saugeen.
Composing thejnixed team were
Terry Elliott, Garry Farrell, Joan
Ferguson;and Gayle Huston. Play-
ing by the knockout system.; they
defeated Kincardine, and receiv•
ed a bye to the finals,against Ches.,
ley. ,The team,suffered defeat at
the hands of their Chesley' oppon-
ems but emerged in runner up.: • •

C. W;O.S.S.A. CURLING
On Wednesday, February 7, our'
feminine curling team. journeyed •
to Durham where they participat-
ed in the C. W.O.S.S.A. Curling
bonspiel. Gayle Huston was
the skip of the foursome. Other
team mates included Joan Fergus
on, vice; Shirley McCreath,
second and Kathy Farrell, lead.
They were accompanied by Mr.
Turvill who was there to give
them added encouragment. How-
ever , they were defeated by the
John Diefenbaker Secondary '
School rink from Hanover.
GEORGIAN COLLEGE'
• On Tuesday, February 6th,
students from level four and Five
accompanied by Mrs. Katherine
Collins, journeyed to' Barrie
where they toured Georgian col-
lege of Applied Arts and Technel
Ogy , Georgian College is' locat-
ed in Barrie and serves the count-
ies of Bruce, Grey, Dufferin and
Sirncoe and the Muskoka and
Parry Sound Districts. It corn-
prises of four new buildings and
is located on a 140 acre site.'
UPon reaching the college the
' students were met by Mr.. Egan,
who is the :student awards officer,
and••Mr. Gaskin the Admission
Qfficer. After eating in the
cafeteria.,• the group was given a
LOUT Of the college where they
• Visited the AppliedArr_s,. Business
and Teehnology buildings. The.
students were given time to chat
wiih,sorne of the faculty and '
Mr., Henry 'Gardner passed
away on Monday at Huronview
Clinton after a•long illness.. Sym-
pathy is extended to Mrs.
Gardner and Lane.

Hospital Ward
Mark Passmore, Wingham,
son of Rev. and Mrs. B. Passmore,
was struck in the face by a hock-
ey puck February 5, causing a
laceration over his .right eye:'
• :Wilfred Pentland, age 58,
Dungannon, was driving yest on
Highway 86, near Wallenstein on.
February 5th when a truck he was
passing loaded with bales of
straw lost a couple of these bales
striking the,Pentland car wind- •
shield, which in turn caused con;
tusions 'to his chest. Driver of the
other truck was Donald Reist of
R. R. 2, Waterloo , Ontario. Mr.
Pentland was examined'and re-
leased. Investigated by Prov. R.
I. Allen, Kitchener, Ontario.
Adrian Schipper Blyth , re-
ceived lacerations to his' scalp
and abrasions to his left •hand in
a fa in Blyth.
Cindy Craig, age 14, Wing-
ham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Lionel Craig, fell and lacerated
her chin.
James Leishman, R..R. 5, Brus-
sels, lacerated his left hand while
loading pigs at his home farm.'
Ronald Riley, age 15, Wroxeter,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Riley,
was admitted to hospital with con-
cussion due to a hockey accident
at the- Monkton arena.
Joanne 13oven, age,10, R. 'R. 3,
Blyth, received lacerations to her
left foot which she received , while
cutting wood 'with an'axe.
Steven KlumpenWver, age 2,
R. R..1 WrOxeter son. of Mr. and
Mrs. William,Klumpenhewer, was
admitted to hospital withe fr,ctur
ed skull caused by a fall in the•
barn at his home.• He fell approx-
imately 18 feet' through a hay
chute onto a cement floor. He
was given emergency treatment
and transferred via ambulance
to Victoria Hospital,• London, in
nly fair ccindition.

5 Kiricardine/was struck in the
face by a hockey puck' at the
Lucknow arena, causing a lacera-
tion to-his right eye.• He_was ad-
mitted to hospital.
Wayne Powell, age 26; 41
was
Crescent, London,
driver of a snowmobile which
went over 'a ravine north of Tees-
Water , throwing him off the ,
machine.. He received a fracture
to his right knee. He Was admit-
ted to• hospital. Investigated by
Walkerton 0:P.P. Scott.

Hur on Township Council held
their regular meeting on February

ed acting Clerk for the day to
replace Earl Tout who, was absent
illness.

gaged for. Garbage Collector-for
anether,year and Leonard Irwin
was appointed Warble Fly Inspec-
tor and also instructed to count
the dogs while attending warble
duties.
. The. Township Building By-law
was revised and will appear in the
Newspapers at a later• date.
The Salaries By-law received
third reading and most employees
received approximately 7 per cent
increase over the 1972•salaries.
, The Grey-Bruce Assessment
Office announced that they will
hOld "Open House" in the,Town-
ship Hall in Ripley to explain the
re-assessment to 'the' ratepayers of
the Township of Huron and the
Village of Ripley. Meetings are
to be held on February 26 and
March 8 'from 12' noon until
9 o'clock p.m. 4
Glenn Fariell resigned his posi-
tion as Tax Collector effective
May 1st and this was accepted with
regret. Glenn said he just had too
many irons in the. fire to attend

Ripley Horticultural SOCiety of
$25.00; Essex Flood Relief,
$100.00; St. John Ambulance,
$20.00 and the Bnice County
Plowmens Association, $50.00.
