Highway Patrol and Garage in Paisley. He will work under the
direction of the County Engineer and be responsible for the
maintenance of County Roads in the Paisley area.
Applicants should be 30 to 55 years. of age and haVe a

and working in a similar occupation is essential.
The' starting salary is $8,400 and` afterthree months pro-

FREDERICK JACKSON
The death of Frederick Jackson
of'Lucknow ocburred in Wingha.rn
and District HOspital on Thursday,
February 8th in his 79th year.
He was born in Hn11, England
on September 12, 1894.
Fred, as he ,Was familiarly
known, left England-On May
1914, docking at Quebec, He •
carne to Ripley by train and was
met by Duncan IvLacIntyre of
Ashfield with horse 'and buggy on
May .22nd. • •
Fred stayed at the ,MacIntyre
farm until after harvest and then
worked, also in Ashfield,•with
Jack Parrish for a year and with
Eddie Johnstone for a year.
In OctOber, 1916. ?red went to
work for Jack Ross of concession 2;
Huron Township. Mr. Ross died
in 1919. Fred",stayed on at the
Ross farm with Mrs. Ross and her
sister Miss Margaret Henderson:
They sold the :farm in 1947 and ,
bought the ,FirtlaY MacLennan
home on HaVeloek Street, Lick-
now ., where he has resided since
that time, ,
Fred was weigh Magter at the
Lucknow Co-op Stock Yards, for a.
°number of years.
He was a keen lawn bowler,
and was a member of Lucknow.
Masonic Lodge. A Lodge service
was held on Friday evening at the
chapel.
The funeral service:was held at
MacKenzie Memorial' Chapel;
Lhcknow on' Saturday , February ,
10th. Rev. Robert •Nicholls, was
