with a 'narrow cuff. The neck-
line was trimmed with lace and
three rows of lace around the
sleeves. She carried ,a cascade of
red- roses and white carnations.
Maid of honour was Miss Susan
Brooks of Ripley, sister of the, •
bride. She wore an,A-line gown
in princess lines of deep purple'
crimp with short puff sleeves,

MAPLE SYRUP INFORMATION
DAYS
The 1973. Maple syrup season
is fast approaching and maple
syrup producers are beginning to'
think and, plan for the maple'
syrup harvest.
To keep producers up-to-date on
maple syrup technology, series of
Information Meetings will be held
at 13 locations in Ontario. These
meetings are sponsored by the
Mipistry ,of Agriculture and Food, •
the Ministry of Natural Resour-
ces, and the Ontario Maple Syrup
Producers' Association.
The gulifects under discussion
will include "Problems in Maple
Syrup PrOduction", by a panel of
maple syrup producers, "How the
Recreational Aspect Can Increasep
A Maple Syrup 'Producer's In-
come", by W. A. Humphryes, and
"Maple Bush Management As-
sistance Available from the Min
istry of Natural Resources", by
E. Danes. A film called' "Ontario
Maple Syrup Producers" will be
shown at all meetings. This film
shows how several Modern maple
syrup operations work.
The Maple Information Meet-
ings are a good place to begin
planning for your spring harvest

In the last week the finals for
Public Speaking have been going
on. On Friday the competition
will be held in the school to find-
out who will represent our school,
There will be. two people repres 7
enting each class. Representing
Grade 8 are Jeff Rouse andlane
Ann Coiling. The Grade 7-8
Class are sending Rob* Sutton
and Connie Irwin. Mary Anne
Coiling and Gregg Rouse are
going in for Grade 7 and Karen
McGarvey, Corinne Boyle, and
Heather MacDonald are represent-
ing the Grade 5-6 -Class. We hope
to hear some. good speeches so

On January 17„ the Flames led
by Bob Shepherd, beat Allan
Murray's team the Warriors 2-1.
.,Dave Hartin and Jamie Hackett
scored the goals for the Flames.
Alex Irvin scored the lone goal
for the Warriors. -
VOLLEYBALL
On Monday ,'Iknuary 15 , the
/girls and boys teams of Kings- •••
bridge came to our school for a
game at 2.00. The boys played
three games, Kingsbridge winning
two and Brookside one. In the
girls, Kingsbridge again won two

GRADE ONE:
We went on a bus trip to"the.
Kincardine Hospital and to the,
fire hail. When we were at the
hospital we saw Deanna's uncle.
He works in the laboratory...We
even saw somebody having a
blood test. It was fun going
on our trip.

To raise money for their ,new ,
uniforins. the girls played the
teachers on Tuesday at noon.
The teachers 'won, the first' gaine
15-10. The girls came back to
win the second game 15-2. Total•
ling.up thejaoints it was 25-17 for
the girls. Fourteen dollars was •
raised to help pay for the
uniforms, • ,
On Saturday, January 20, the
girls and boys teams as well as
the cheerleaders will go to God-
erich for a tournainent.

honour's. The girls all wore
white gloves.
Dianne Beishuizen of Sarnia,
niece of the groom, was flower,
'girl. Her dress and flowers were
identical to the other attendants
except it was off-white in colour.
Grobmsman was John Beishuizen
'of Sarnia , brother 'of the groom.
Ushers were Lenny Kleefnian of
Port Huron, Michigan, cousin of
the groom and 'Jim Brooks of R. R.
4 Ripley, brother of the bride.
Mrs. Ambrose Gamble of Rip-
ley was organist.
A reception followed at the -
Turnberry Tavern, Wingham.
• The bride's mother chose a,
princess style gown of turquoise
blue velvet with short sleeves,
black and white accessories and. .
collage of red roses. •
- The groom's Mother wore a
gown of royal blue with stand-up '
collar, long sleeves, black and
silver, accessories and corsage of
yellow roses.
For travelling the bride chose a
brown fortrel dress and slack en-
semble with black accessories and
corsage of yellow roses.
The couple are residing at
R. R. '4 Ripley, where the, groom.
'is employed on his' father's dairy
farm.
Prior to her marriage, the
bride was honoured at four show-
ers.
Guests attended the wedding
from Cornwall, Toronto, Sarnia ,
Ripley., Detroit, Brantford, Well-
esley and Chatham.
The marriage. of Linda Marjorie
Brooks, daughter of Mrs. Marjorie
Brooks and the late' Mi. Stewart
Brooks of Ripley and Ben Beishuiz-
en,...son of Mr. and Mrs. Derk
Beishuizen of R. R. 4 Ripley, was
solemnized in Lucknow 'Christian
Reformed Church, on Friday, Dec-
ember '1st at 7 o'clock. ,
Two large baskets of yellow •
and white mums decorated the
'church.
Rev. John W. VanSteinpvoort

double ring ceremony.
The bride was given in mar- •
riage of her eldest brother Don-
ald Brooks of Brantford and her
Mother Mrs. MarjOrie Brooks of
