with their parents Mr. and Mrs.
'Bill McCreath of Ripley'and Mr.
and Mrs. Sandy MacCharles of
Olivet, - Both Mary, McCreatir and
Pat MacCharles are in Victoria
Hospital, where Mary is in her
second year as a student nurse and
Pat is a medical •secretary.

Home last Thursday from Cornell
University was Dennis Martin vis-
iting with his parents Mr. and.
Mrs. Gordon Martin of the sixth
concession east in Huron Town-
ship. Dennis,. Who is playing on
the big Red hockey team of
Cornell University, returned to
Ithaca , New York on §Unday.

On. Tuesday, January 16, word
reached Ripley of the passing;
that morning, of Wes. Zv1aelntosh
at Gateway Maven. Home in
Marton. Wes had been a resid-
ent it the Bruce county Nursing
Home for the past; couple of
years. went, to Wiarton from
Kincardine Hospital.. Prior to.
that he had resided at the Thomp-
son Nursing Home in Ripley
operated by Mrs, Mary Fludder.
Rev. George Ball of St.' And-
rews United Church in Ripley
was in charge of the funeral ser-
vice held at the McLennp-Mc-
Creath Home on Thursday after-
noon folloWed by interment in
Ripley Cemetery. He is survived
by several nieces and nephews
in Toronto, Detroit 'and Western
Canada:. His home farm is at the
southeast corner of the fifteenth
and, twelfth concession - two
blocks north Of Ripley: It is now
owned and farmed by Mike Sno-
belen. School house number
three on the fifteenth is on the
Macintosh homestead.'

guests with his sister Mrs, Kather-
ine Coiling on Monday this past ,

A reception dance was held on
Saturday evening in the Commun-
ity Centre in honour of Mr.. and
Mrs. Paul Greenwood, nee Nancy
Elliott of Sarnia.
Cards were played till the crowd
gathered and a dance followed.
The Couple.,Were presented with
gifts and a purse of money.
Mr. and Mrs. Vico Gawley and

holidaying in Florida. ,

Lakefield spent the week end with
