Park, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Park, Dungannon, Brookside Public School. Twenty young people entered this class. The first 'prize winners receiv- ed $5.00 with second and third_ each receiving $4.00 and $3.00 .in both categories. Each entrant received $2.00. Keen interest was shown this year witha total of 35 entries as compared to only 14 last year. The two winning submissions have been entered in the Legion Zone C-1 competition which includes thirteen branches. OUR OBLIGATION By Mary Eadie, Grade 8, Lucknow Central Public School. Canada is a. beautiful country. It is no wander that thousands of men went to war to defend it. If it hadn't been for these brave men Canadians would , not be the free people they are today. M young Canadians, we can keep' this freedom by working at being better citizens'. It is up to our generation to keep the peace that was purchased at so high a price. We can set goals'for ourselves .and strive to achieve them. :We can treat everyone equally re- gardless of race , .creed , 'colour , or , financial position.
