Mrs. Ernest Gaunt gave the
opening prayer and Mrs. Les
Hazelden read the scripture,
Matthew 1: 18 - 25.
Rev. Garratt traced the history
and purpose of the Altar Guild
with a discussion following,.
Mrs. Pritchard gave a summary
and explanation of the new pro-
gramme for the year.
A letter frOm former Rector
Rev. R. A. Joscelyn was passed
around.
Reports of committees were
presented. It was decided 'to buy
Prayer Books as memorial to
deceased members. Remem-
brances have been sent to form-
er rectors, shut-ins and others.
Mrs Pritchard read the closing
thought and Silent Night was sung.
Lunch was a sample of every-
one's Christmas cake and cookies/

Nine hundred and ninety adults'
are returning to school one •night,
each week to attend classes in ,
subjects of their own interest
ranging from art and auto mech-
anics to welding—arid women's
physical fitness. , At the same
time last year only seven hundred
and nine had registered at Huron
County night• classes.
Several new classes have been
added to those which have been
available in former years. Sew-
yping c-be-r -be-tWo
of the Most popular courses, but
their poSition is being rivalled by:
gourmet cooking, liquid embroid-
ePy and hair dressing or personal
grooming. Judo, karate,
nd bad n3inton clAsses all
have large ehrolnients. Although
'several students still 'attend
evening classes in bOokkeeping ,
shorthand ,• computer programming
and grade XIII subjects for•credit
toward a certif,i-Cate, the ma jor-
ity are interested 'in leisure time
activities such as ceramics, oil
painting,. photography and uphol-
stery.
This year , for the first time,'
two classes in tailoring are being
taught at Seaforth bistrief High
School. These resulted from a
request from a group in, that area.
The Huron County Board of Educa
tion had indicated a willingness
to provide a class in any,area ii
w,here such interest is shown and
an instructor is available. .
