VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
The girls' houseleague volley-
ball season culminated in a
championship match on December
11 in a special assembly held dur-
ing the final class of the
afternoon. Clashing were Kathy
Farrell's team of Debbie Tranter,
Connie Pollock, Susan Carter
Anna Zekveld , Bonnie Boyle,
and Anne Stanley and Shirley, Mc-.
Creath's tearnof Marg Chester,
Joan Courtney , Gail Messe,nger,'
Nancy McGuire, Debbie Peter-
baugh and Priscilla Zipfel. , The
latter group had defeated. all ,
opposition that they had faCed.
Scoring was slow to start, bit
• the grapple for points was close
and.well-matched. The first
game Saw Shirley's team do doWn
to defeat for the'first time', al,:
though by no means:disgracefully.
Sinte The'chaniPionship called for
the pest of two games out of three
another game ensued: Again
Kathy Farrell's team rallied their
forces and came out on 'top 1578,
to take •the RDHS girls' intramural
volleyball championship

December 20 from 9-12 a.m.
Music will be provided by "Rain"
which are' well known in this
area. Admission is $1.75 single
or $3.00 per couple t. Come out
and really enjoy yourself!

for the championship held. on Dec.
11. The game was played even
though both teams ,were missing
some players. Team' three.won
the first game rather easily'15-8,
but team six was gaining momen-
tum near the end, Team six took
a fast lead in the next game,

couple of points: Team three
eventually tied it and then won
the game 15-12 and emerged as
the charnpions... The winners were
Mark Smith (captain), Sandy Pol-
lock, Peter MacDonald, Wayne •

On Thursday, December 7th
the Lucknow Girl Guides met in
the Town Hall'. -The'Blitebitd. —
Patrol had the flag-raising, follow
ed by Patrol Corners. Plans for
our sleigh-riding party were
made and Christmas Caro4 were
rehearsed. The Robins held,
Campfire.
On December 14th we met at
the Town Hall ready to go-carol-
ling.. We are grateful to Mr.
Gorgon BrOo w 0 tookus around
town on his wagon. After stopping
at the Pinecrest Manor Nursing
Home to, sing Christrhas Carols,
we went to Lieutenant Johnston's
to exchange gifts and enjoy a
snack of hot chocolate and cook-
ies. '
