were guests at the wedding of Mr.
and Mrs. Brad Rotteau (Dianne
Kempton) in the Pine giver United
Church on Saturday. Mr. and. Mrs,
Rotteau are making their' home in
London.
Mrs. Ray Hamilton and Wendy
and Mrs. Jack McGuire, Nancy
and Brian were in Goderich on
Saturday and visited with Mrs.
Jean Carruthers•and children.
They also saw the Santa Claus
parade.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Coiling
attended the reception for Mr. and
Mrs.' Brad Rotteau in the Reid's
Corner Hall on Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Coiling
and family visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Johnson of Teeswater
on Sunday evening.

the meeting with the Ode and the
Mary Stewart Collect.
The program for the meeting
was by the committee of Citizen-,
ship and World Affairs. The roll
call, "Citizenship is a lot of little
things: name one"; was answered
by a 'number of good ideas.

We were happy to welcome 'two
new members, Mrs. John Clement
and Mrs,. Elmer Black. The pres-
. ence of three babies brought back
memories of other days when' .
children were always at the meet-
ings. Everyone enjoyed having
them. .
The minutes, correspondence
• and treasurer's report were given.
A thank you was received, from
Mrs. Gordon Finnigan. 'The cele-
bration of the. W.I. anniversary
and the Christmas party are to be
combined. It, will be a .dinner •
and party, Wednesda, Deceniber
- -1-6-i-n-Carldw -Hall.
The conveners, Miss Iva Carr
and Miss Beth McConnell, were
in charge of the program. Miss
McConnell gave the' motto,•
"Think Canadian; Buy Canadian"..
She presented several,int,eresting
ideas and seated that our pioneer
ancestors built something for
themselves and for us too and we
shduld continue 'to do the same".
Miss Carr's.topic was "United
Nations". She gave an excellent
and well researched history 'of the
.United Nations. She told of the,
beginning of the League of Na-
tions and its successes and failureS.
From this was formed the United
Nations Which today has a mem-
bership of around 1$0 countries.
Miss Carr said that today more
Countries than ever before have
becorne aware of the need to
care for our environment and to
care for the needs of others.
Mrs. Hugh'McWhinney gave an
interesting report on the area
convention held in London Octob-
er 26 , 27.
..Mrs. Rutledge attended the
short course' held at Carlow
ember 15 and reported about it.
Mrs. Wilbur Brown was the
pianist for the singing. Mrs. Rut
ledge thanked Mrs. Blake for her
kind hospitality and hostesses,
Mrs. 6irvin, Mrs. Rutledge and
Mrs. Clement served a lovely.
