their first set of exams, The
exams started on November 23

always seems to be something to

FORESTRY CLUB
The Forestry Club, under the
direction of former RDHS princip-
al Mr. Albert Wylds, congregated
on November 30 to undertake a
field trip in which twigs from
various types of trees were col-
lected and named. ,The following
day , in' the science room at
RDHS, interested participants
could be seen dipping the branch-
es in wood alcohol for future
_mounting. •
A minimum of five meetings
is on the agenda and these activ-
ities 'will culminate in a future
display of the painstaking work
undertaken by the memberS.

William Donald MacLeod passed
away' in the General Hospital.at
Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario ,' on
September twenty-ninth, after 'a,
prolonged illness. 'He was in his
seventy-eighth year.

was. formed in 1971 bythe Direct-
or of Theatre for the National
Arts Centre in Ottawa. Its second
ear' of touring had •grown'out of
an actor's workShop called Project

Based on an' adaptation of an
,Iroquois Creation Myth, the per- ,
forrnance grew out of the script
-and the-result is a s'ort-uf cosmic
variety show with clowns,
jugglerS, musicians, acrobat's ,
poetry ; songs, chants, puppets
and all kinds of spectacular per-
formances. After the

A short question and answer per-
iod was held and the Hexagon
left for another engagement.
RDHS students emerged with a
-sigh of relief from a frenzied
week of first term examinations,
that no doubt, caused many heads
to spin..- The exams were spread
over a period of five days, with a
week end, providing a breather.
All exams were held in the audi-
torium of Ripley High with the
-entire404eG17populat-ieth-of-appr
i.mately one .hundred assembled

He was born on a farm west of
,LochaistancLattended:the_Loch-
alsh School and High Schools in
Kincardine and Lucknow and the
Stratford Normal School. He
taught in Dufferin and Waterloo
Counties and 'in U.S.S. No. 4 at
Lochalsh. He graduated from the
Dental .College in-,Toronto in 1920
and, set up practice in Ripley
where he stayed for seventeen
years. He then moved to the
Soo and practised there limn his
retirement except for a few years
when he worked in Toronto.
He Joined-the—Old—Light Lodge
in Lucknow in 1921..
He leaves to
Cath'erine, two daughters, Rose-
mary, Mrs. Lawrence Tomie of
Sault. Ste. Marie, Beverley, Mrs.
Donald Adkins, of Sarnia and
nine grandchildren.. Two brothers
and one sister survive,, Roderich ,
of Medicine Hat, Kenneth of
Goderich and Margaret„of Conces-
sion One, Huron Township.

Federation of Agriculture Conven-
tion in Hamilton last week.
' Mrs., Jerry Vogt and family
visited last week with Mr. and
Mrs. Bryan Sandy and baby of
Oshawa.
Dennis Dalton is home from his '
boat for the winter months:

Eldon. Austin visited recently
with Mi. and Mrs: 'Ron Ihirnin and
family of Drayton.
A Mr. and Mrs., Bill Hallahan and
family of Myth were Sunda-y vis-
itors with Mr. and Mrs. Antone
Van°0sch and farhily.
Many'from this area attended
'the reception of Diane Zinn and
Ron Ferguson at Brookside School
following their marriage 'on Satur-
day evening.

home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gib-
son for the winter monthS. Mr.
and Mrs. Gibson spend the winter
in Florida.
Miss Margaret Foley has moved
