Zinn said that she was not aware
of this and had not been presented
with a copy,
Mrs. Zinn was asked about the
seriousness of the drug and ako-
hol'problem in county schoOls.
Her reply was to the effect that
the problem was increasing.
Reeve of Ashfield Township
Girvin Reed was called on •and
spoke of some of his work at the
comity council level. He was a
Member of the planning and (ley:-
elopment committee and one of
the main concerns was the
change'tover of the Clinton air
base to private ownership. All
sewers, streets and municipal
operated facilities were' turned
over to Tuckersrnith Township,
Mr. Reed spoke of the new
Maypark Developments Limited
a firm developing 105 cottage
sites on Township property form -

About 35 attended a ratepayers
meeting in the Brookside Public
School on Wednesday evening of
last week.
The meeting was called by the
Township of Ashfield and was for
the benefit,of municipal ratepay-
ers in Ashfield, public school
ratepayers in Ashfield and West
Wawanosh and. Separate School
supporters in Ashfield and West
Wawanosh.
All those attending were from
Ashfield Township.
Donald M. Simpson, clerk of
the township of Ashfield, was
appointed chairman .for the meet-
ing. He explained the new nom-
ination procedure to those pres-
ent.

and West Wawanosh on the Huron-
Perth Separate School Bbd.rd. Mr.
Kieffer has completed- four ,years
on this board and is again a can-
didate for a further two year term.
He, explained the costs of educa-
tion and • the- mill rate strheture.
Mr. Kieffer' said that as well as
his four years on the county board,
he had been on the. Wingham RC
Bciard earlier and felt that this
experience was worth considering
when choosing the represeitatire—
to serve the area for the next two
years. He said he felt it was a
real good thing.to have an elec-
tion for the position and. that he'
was glad there was interest in this
regard.
William Vali Osch, Kintail
storekeepet,is also running for
the Separate School position. He
complimentedthose who 'had
turned out to the meeting. He
felt the meeting gave supporters
the opportunityto attend and
assess the candidates, and he was
sorry that more people did not
take advantage of this fact. He
said that he understood that con-
sideration was being given'to
further centralize education. He
, said thatif, it is allowed, perhaps
some day the bureaucrats in
Queens Park would run the whole
Show. Mr. Van Osch favours de-
centralization with more local
involvemeht. He urged separate
school supporters to show support
for the system on election day.

450. Mrs.. Zinn stated
that she had attended 55 board
meetings in the past term which
doesn't include other school
serriinars, events,• etc. She keeps
the public informed through her
monthly reports in The Luc know
