Phillip Jerdme was able to re= Study Development Of Horse The regular meeting of the Riders Roost Saddle Club was held at the home of Robert and Isabel Sheppard of Lucknow with an attendance of 30.. Sadie• .Mac-Millan had: the topic on development of the horse from millions of years ago when it was a little animal, no bigger than a fox, and was known as the little Dawn Horse. It then had four soft toes which later developed into a hoof and eventually to the horse of today. She had a leg bone to show how the two center toes had fused and formed a hoof' while the two side toes went up the back of the leg bone. She had two very large blown 7 up pic- tures to demonstrate the confor- mation of the sound horse, and also the unsound horse. This was followed by forty slides from -the Arabian E-Yorse association, courtesy of Judy and Bill Geddes of Kincardine. These slides were on the selec- tion of the riding horse ; confor- mation and• bone structure and guide to follow when buying a horse.
