On Thursday evening, Novem-
ber 9, the regular meeting of
Trinity United Church Women
'was held-in-the-Church, in the
form of a Pot Luck Supper with an
attendanceOf 43. After a deli-
cibus supper , .the meeting cane
to order with the singing of Hymn

of Mrs. Blake Alton and were an
"Priicilla".

Plans were discussed for the
Bake Sale and tea which will be
held on December 9, in the
Legion Rooms, at 2.30 p.m.
Four thank-you notes were read,
Mrs. Charles Wilkins was in

an interesting poem on Opportun-
ity , and also the "Trinity
.N4rs. Jahn Hnnte
an interesting reading telling us
how she baked a cake. A Sing
Song was conducted by Mrs. Ken
Alton, and Mrs. Hummel gave a
humorous reading. Mrs. Wilkins
ended the program with a few,
more jokes. Mrs. Donald Hackett'
reqUested home-made candy for
the Sunday. School Concert. A
Prayer was given by Mrs. Jim
Hunter and Mt. HumMel closed
with, prayer.
A happy half 'hour was Spent
over the exchange of Sunshine Pal
Gifts.

The regular meeting of the
Langside Women's Missionary
Society was held November 9th at
the home of Mrs. Stewart McGil-
-liv ra-y.—Mrs-.-..George_-Young,,aithe.
president, opened the meeting
with the call to worship, "And
the work of righteousness shall be
peace and the effect of righteous-
ness, quietness and assurance for-
ever." Hymn 494 was Sung. Mrs.
Jim Young gave the, scripture
Psalhi 59: 1-13. Mrs. Elmer Scan
led in prayer, and Mrs. Lloyd
Moffat gave the Meditation "Rem-
ernbrance". ' 'Mrs. Wesley. Young
gave a reading. •
Mrs. Robert Bregman was nom-
/. mate• secretary for the meeting
and read the minutes of the
last rile aril.. The next meetin
'will be held Detember 7th at
Mrs. Robert Bregman's. ,The
election of officers,for the 'new
year then took place: A program
committee was also nominated.
Mrs. Robert Bregrhan gave the
topic and a Bible quiz. The offer-
ing was received' and Mrs, Eugene
Conley led in prayer.
Hymn 480 was sung. The meet-
ing closed with the. Lord's Prayer
in unison, :.
Mrs. McGillivray then served a,
very delicious lunch.

Mrs. Gertrude Walsh presided
.for the meeting of the Anglican
Church Wernen at the home of
'Mrs. Midford'Wall on Thursday
afternoon,' November 9th. Miss
Edna Boyle read the scripture from
the 6th chapter of St. Johns'gas,-
pel. The meditation (in keeping
with Remembrance Day),was given
by Mrs. 'George Graham entitled
"The Poppy Story", Mrs. Mid ford'
Wall read the minutes of the prev-
ious meeting and the roil-call was
answered with the word Remem-
brance. This being the_ annual
meeting it was unanimous that all
officers be returned for 1973. The
program planning committee will
meet soon to have tIke programs
for 1973 ready far distribution at
The December meeting. Two
lovely bales, were packed for the
itocese of Keewatin and St.
Monica house at WaterloO. Pray ,
er and the, benediction' closed the
meeting and a delicious lunch was
served by the hostesS, assisted
by Mrs. Rose Hodgins and Mrs.
David Haldenby. The' president
gave the courtesy remarks. The
December hostess is Mrs'. HOw-
ard Thompson. This will be the
Christmas meeting on December
14th.' Mrs Jack Scott 'will read
the scripture. Mrs. 'Bert Nichol-
son will givethe .meditation. The
word for the roll call is a verse
from St. -Luke ; chapter 2. The •
program conveners are Mrs." Roh-
ald Thacker and Mrs. ROy Collins.

Mrs, Lloyd MacDougall accom-
panied her mother Mrs. Wilfred
Farrish of Lucknow to Kitchener
on Saturday where Mrs. Farrish
underwent surgery on Sunday.
Mr. and. Mrs. George Morley
and Jack MacDonald of Goderich
and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Needham
were guests Saturday,evening'at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira
Dickie.

Richards and MacDougall relatives
on the weekend. Mr.. and Mrs..

Clarence Ritchie for the Novem-
ber meeting. Mrs. Charles. And-
erson, President, opened the'
meeting with a poem. The roll
call was answered with a gift
for the Victor Home Mission in
Toronto. Fifteen members and
three guests were present. Mrs.
Ken Cameron read the financial
report.. •
Mrs. Robert Struthers, social
functions 'made plans for the
Thankofferings and 'a family din-
ner to be held November 18th.

Mrs. Ted Collyer was in Lon-
don on Monday for treatment for
arthritis. We're glad, she is now
improved in health.

Helm with 19 attending.
Mrs. George Jardine opened the

read by Mrs. Stuart Reavie.
Mrs. Jack McDOnagh had the

Capital Punishment.
Mrs. George Jardine gave a
leading followed by the reading
