ASSEMBLY On Wednesday, November 8, the students and staflof R. D. H.S. observed Remembrance Day in an assembly that was staged by the History 551 class and their history teacher Mrs. Jim •Needham. Those taking part were chairman Jim Farrell and Gayle Huston, Susan Brooks, Marg Chester, ,w.janet Ritchie, Debbie Corrin, Margaret MacKay and Joan Ferguson. The Assembly was opened with the singing of "0 Canada" followed by two minutes of silence. The poem "In Flanders Field", was read by Gayle Huston, Janet Ritchie - And. Siisan...Brooks.. This was, writ ten by Colonel John McRae and is popular throughout the world. The film "Beyond The Beach" was then shown to the assembly. It made us certainly respect those brave men who-fought- and-died- so that we could enjoy the various liberties in ourcountry today. • "Faith of Our Fathers!" was then sung, followed by God .Save the Queen. Brenda made gracious-reply , thanking-a-il-thc ladies for coming and for the lovely array of gifts. She also invited everyone to her parents' home to view her trousseau.
